I’d add River94.9, WaveFM and bay93.9 to that as well.

bay93.9 was never included in the Grant Broadcasters transaction

Sorry, I thought we were talking a hypothetical network, including Star Central Coast, not ARN’s Star QLD network.

New chapter for ARN’s Duncan Campbell after 15 years and 115 metro surveys

After fifteen years and a grand total of 115 metro radio surveys, Duncan Campbell has officially wrapped up his final book as Chief Content Officer at ARN.

Campbell now transitions to a consulting and advisory role – part of a strategic leadership restructure which saw Lauren Joyce take on the newly-created role of ARN’s Chief Audience & Content Officer.

God, I hope this is the last we have to hear from him after each survey..

NOVA Entertainment has announced the appointment of Ashley Earnshaw to the role of group commercial director, bolstering the company’s commercial leadership team.

Earnshaw joins NOVA from his previous position as director of sales – total audio at Nine, bringing with him over twenty years of industry experience.

Earnshaw starts in October at NOVA Entertainment, based in Sydney.

ARN Media has sold its majority stake in creative agency Emotive.

ARN seem desperate for cash.

SCA and ARN are both in the same boat destroying shareholder value, this All About Audio plan really not working for these two major radio players yet in terms of value for the owners.

Bring on the private equity! You know it’s coming.

You’d hope now that they’ve ditched the extraneous parts that this is now their focus.

I suspect one of them will disappear within 12 to 18 months though, whether it’s because the two reignite the merger/takeover or someone else enters the fray

An interesting tidbit on the end of the Mediaweek article about Jonesy & Amanda moving from Gold Sydney breakfast to Sydney/Melbourne drive (as mentioned on the Gold Network thread) in regards to ARN in general:

As ARN moves closer to unveiling its full rebrand and network strategy, an official announcement is expected later this year, possibly at a planned Q4 upfronts presentation.

Don’t get overly excited. It’s probably Gold around the country with Christian at breakfast and J&A on drive (if they stick around till then) - I’m confident J&A will do a deal with 2MMM before Q4’s announcement.

ARN Sees Revenue Drop 7% But Promises Bright Spots From Digital Audio & Restructuring

ARN has released its results for the first half of its 2025 financial year and, while it is seeing bright spots in the realm of digital audio, its overall business has slipped somewhat.

The top lines were thus: ARN’s total revenue has dropped 7 per cent year-on-year to $142.3 million. Its net profit after tax was just $6 million, down a staggering 56 per cent year-on-year.

“Our Gold network is outperforming the market. However, the KIIS network has underperformed but we are actively addressing the evolving nature of advertiser demand for KIIS, refreshing our content and commercial approach,” said (CEO Ciaran) Davis.

ARN’s regional radio assets are outperforming its metro assets, too. Since H1 in FY23, metro’s share of ARN’s revenue has dropped from 58 per cent to 53 per cent, while regional has remained consistent at 38 per cent.

Not a great picture.

A 56% drop in net profit? A big part of this has to be due to the K&J contract. I don’t understand why heads aren’t rolling. Is the Board asleep?

Wow, aren’t the chooks really coming home to roost now for ARN. Dreadful company results out today and KIIS unit copping the flack. Gee I wonder why? Lets see … disastrous Melb launch, took their eye off Sydney flagship station; on air talent you know who went rogue; ratings impacted, advertisers voted with their wallets; and the Cash Bonfire contract K&J keeps burning. Great job ARN (mis)management and board. Sorry for the ordinary shareholders of this joint.

Yes absolutely. I am actually (pleasantly) surprised by the amount of backlash from the advertisers.
