Yes, 2EA/SBS Radio, which operated on that frequency from 1980 to 1995.

Yes, from Windang (1314 site) I think.

Google Maps street view shows what could be a mast?

Those Google Maps pics actually show (at a distance) the 1611kHz mast around the corner.
Much better view of the 1611 mast on Elizabeth Drive.

Had a trial hour on Braidwood FM today which went well. I should be on the air next Weds again from 1300-1500. Anything you would like to hear?

Anything to report on their setup? I don’t know about anyone else on here but I’m always interested to hear about how community stations run their studios (like their playout system (if at all), news services, music formats (if at all), studio equipment etc.)

Gordon has got the station sounding good with Zara Radio and a decent desk; I will take a photo of the setup when I’m in next week. We take AIR news. No particular format really but the automation is mainly classic hits with a few country songs thrown in.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has decided to allocate a long-term community radio broadcasting licence in the Mt Barker area of the Adelaide Hills to Lofty Community Media Incorporated (Lofty).

The licence will be used to provide a community radio service which will broadcast on the frequency of 88.9MHz.

Seems like the end of Hills Radio.

Let’s hope their ambitions are as Lofty as their name and broadcast region.

And yet no one is prepared to make a ruling on the four-station disaster in the Hawkesbury.

it’s all too hard apparently. Shotgun marriage is the way to go.

The question is whether a shotgun marriage would nevertheless end in the same governance issues and 2-3 years down the track we’re back where we started

They will be indeed.

Then ACMA needs to get off their arse and just allocate a full time license or tell all of them to fuck off.

Not before Starter FM has had our say :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
