2OOO-FM 98.5 has a horrible hum / buzz under the audio, was like that yesterday too.. I checked a @tvcl webserver to make sure it wasn’t my reception up here! (thanks!)
Certainly has.
And the audio in current program is horribly distorted too.
Nurse!
It’s been like that for a week or more, I thought maybe someone at the station might notice & fix it, I’m confident it’s not a transmitter fault, I’ve just remote logged in & checked it again now & all looks okay.
I’m guessing no one at the station actually listens to it, now also wondering does anyone else outside of some MS members?
I’m on leave all week, but have just left a message with the other TXA techs to contact the 2OOO tech & let him follow it up.
Just listening now, with all that distorted noise the station just sounds very devilish. Here’s a short snippet.
Is this an online station only, or on terrestrial radio in Perth too?
Interesting the article doesnt seem to mention any return to the airwaves… Maybe its just implied. Unless they had to hand the licence back at which point they might be on a TCBL
Just a follow up, this has been checked & the issue is on both links from the studio to the transmitter, so it’s a studio end issue that’s being followed up further.
It’s an online station.
Ahhh that wont be very profitable
“…has announced it’s returning to the airwaves.”
Very loose wording by the writer of the article. Most people relate the word “airwaves”
with a terrestrial transmission of sorts or a radio broadcast transmission as one
of their broadcast medium platforms, although it’s not.
Well, technically even if streaming there are usually some airwaves involved, whether that be through Wi-fi or 4/5G.
But that’s for the nerds, or the birds. The ordinary English meaning of ‘airwaves’ is indeed tied to terrestrial AM/FM.
But remember the birds are drones that charge on powerlines…
/sarcasm
Since this is “technically” not a community radio station (since it is not licensed as such), should this be in its own thread for streaming radio or similar?
Maybe in the Internet Radio thread?
Lucy Holmes, who co-hosts breakfast on Melbourne’s 89.9 TheLight and performs as 100% Kylie, has bravely opened up about her shock health diagnosis as she forges on with her successful signing and broadcasting career.
“Late last year I felt a funny pop in my jaw,” Holmes told TheLight listeners this week.
“I have always had jaw issues, it has always dislocated, but I have never had any pain and I felt a funny pop. My pain on that side of my jaw increased exponentially over a period of time.”
With the pain escalating to “extraordinary” levels, Holmes underwent tests.
“I ended up having an MRI on my jaw because I was in extraordinary pain and it showed that I have degenerative arthritis in both sides of my jaw,” she said in an emotional conversation on the Lucy and Kel show podcast.
“I have been seeing one of the best surgeons in Melbourne …. I have been told I will have to have my jaw joint replaced in the coming years and the goal is to push that off as long as possible because technology changes so rapidly with jaws.”

3WAY-FM marks 40 years in Warrnambool with new studio launch and special tribute

Cale posted on his LinkedIn about his departure from Fresh 92.7
I quit Fresh 927 during my first week back from (parental) leave after finding out, on my first day back, I was being removed from my radio show after 6 years to focus solely on sales.
I already had a few opportunities in the pipeline since last year so it aligned perfectly.
