The first season aired on SBS in Australia.
this seems to be as good a place as any:
Is it true Britbox in Australia is run by someone whose background is in Free to Air tv?
If true must explain why its so crappy.
Joanna Lumley was named Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the New Year Honours list.
such a shame youtuber Geoff Marshall is not involved in this.
The overnight ratings for New Year’s Day programs have been released and it is mixed results for the BBC.
Well it’s pretty much honours even. Their big new drama topped the ratings and that’s the important thing. ITV had a much stronger line up than Christmas with The Masked Singer, Downton Abbey movie and ever reliable Catchphrase.
If Doctor Who were any other show it would have been axed during the Capaldi era based on ratings alone. It’s the international profile that keeps it going.
Should be moved to CBBC with the other kids shows
The top shows of each week of the year. The soaps barely get a look in now with Corrie topping the ratings just for the 5 weeks of summer. Drama dominates the year, especially from the BBC, until Strictly comes along in the autumn and outrates everything. Just minor changes when devices are added to the TV-only numbers - seems people like streaming the PM and Queen.
The drama streams in Australia on BritBox. Series 1 will have its FTA screening on ABC TV from January 22.
Can’t believe guff like Death in Paradise rates so well. I’ve caught episodes of it on the ABC, and it just feels like the weirdest celebration of British colonialism. Portrayal of the locals isn’t exactly enlightened either.
Agree. Never caught more than the odd glimpse of it but the idea of sending a white British man to a foreign island to head up their police force is questionable at least. And to do it with four different characters, exactly the same scenario each time, really highlights how questionable it is.
I’m sure the writers and creators will say it’s the white man who is shown up in this scenario, but they said that about Alf Garnett as well.
Screw will stream in Australia on BritBox, and air on TVNZ in New Zealand, both later this year.
I thought Britbox was BBC and ITV stuff only.
Screw will debut on BritBox in Australia on February 17.
I think it’s mainly shows distributed by BBC or ITV Studios which can air on any other channel in UK.
Such as Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky
Analysis by Telegraph Sport has found that, out of 22 elite events across a range of sports, the BBC no longer holds exclusive live rights to any of them and has a share of those rights for just eight.
By comparison, as recently as 2012, it had the exclusive live rights to seven of the 22 and a share of those for another six. In its 1992 pomp, meanwhile, the BBC had a near-monopoly, boasting 17 of these events exclusively and sharing three of the remaining five.
