Whenever I have seen a video or watched Sky Sports or BT Sport, I am always confused as to what the watermark square (Sky) or shield (BT) in the bottom right corner (circled in red) is. Anyone shed some light?

I would like to know the meaning of that logo too. Sometimes the watermark is in the shape of a beer cup.

Its an anti-piracy measure

The subscription a pub needs to show Sky Sports is different to a usual home subscription - it’s more expensive. Some landlords were simply getting a home subscription and showing it in their pub. So Sky added a pint glass on screen for pub subscriptions, so that inspectors could easily check. However, some scheming publicans were sticking pint glass stickers on their screens to make it look like they had the correct subscription. So the amount in the glass changes every day and the inspectors know exactly what to look for each day.

But what about the non-pint one?

Again, its an anti-piracy measure - its shown to denote that the vision is from their app/online streaming service

Mock the Week has been back for two weeks - here’s how they’ve done it:

  • All panellists are in studio, separated by Perspex panels
  • Limited studio audience, all masked up
  • Zoom audience, Dara has acknowledged this at the start.
  • During stand-up segments, social distancing enforced.
  • Also during stand up segments, they had to use separate microphones.

Have You Been Paying Attention and any other panel type show - take note!

But if they do that with HYBPA, you will only have Melbourne players. Using the screens we’ve had players from Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand.

SRO Audiences, the ticketing website that helps manage audiences for the comedy shows (The Graham Norton Show and Have I Got News for You), is organizing the virtual gathering. It will involve people watching a live stream of the studio recordings from home, while their laughter and applause is taped.

HYBPA has been innovative. Other shows should learn from them not the other way around.

Rebel Wilson is filming a new show with SAS: Australia instructor Ant Middleton on a journey of discovery in Mexico. It is called Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking and is set to air early next year on Sky in the UK.

I wonder if it will air on 7 here? Given Rebel and SAS are Seven related.

Rebel wouldn’t have been on a network contract for Pooch Perfect, I’d say her association or any obligation with 7 ended when the show did.

I think the new show will go to Foxtel depending on the show’s distributor.

I’m a Celebrity has debuted tonight, this year being in a castle just an hour or so away from me rather than the other side of the world - and the change of location is spectacular. Sorry New South Wales but North Wales is outdoing you with it’s natural beauty and the castle itself, plus the set build within it (as it is mainly ruins) is absolutely stunning and fits the theme of facing your fears just as well as being in the so called “jungle” in Australia.
