Thanks for your endorsement of this. Started it this afternoon. Struggled through most of the first episode because I was expecting something like The Amazing Race but I’m now enjoying the less frantic pace and the relationships/personalities of the travellers. Had intended to watch a movie tonight but I’m really getting into this.

Race Across The World is great, I’m waiting for the second season to finish before I binge it.

The sort of show that could appeal to the Aussie sense of travel/adventure if a local network was interested.

There is a thread for Race Across the World in the Nine Network section of the forum.

American Idol showed this week that singing competitions can be done quite well under lockdown restrictions so I do think The Voice should be able to do something, but for BGT it’ll be almost impossible for non-solo or family acts to rehearse and compete whilst social distancing.

I’ve been saying for weeks though Simon Cowell should be using this as a way to try and revive The X Factor, which is pretty much axed and deserves to be after last year but it is a format which could really work well and actually revive itself under lockdown conditions, and just as BGT used The X Factor’s hours last year for the Champions edition the BGT live week hours could be reallocated to The X Factor and I think they could get a half decent run out of people auditioning from home and if necessary performing “live shows” from home too.

American Idol got series low ratings for its first isolation live show. Seems like viewers are not entertained with the new format of doing live shows.

The nearest comparison will be Nine skipping a whole episode of Doctor Doctor.

That’s stupid. They could have just warned people not to watch if they felt the episode might be too close to what they are experiencing.

Apparently they’ve done it in America too with an episode of New Amsterdam which was about a flu epidemic.

Some speculation that BBC is looking to shut down BBC Four with some funding redirected to online-only BBC Three and some programs shifted to BBC Two

Terrible news, the Tory cuts have been so deep for the BBC. What’s next the BBC News Channel, CBBC?

https://tvtonight.com.au/2020/05/bbc3-mulls-return-from-online-to-broadcast-tv.html

The move, announced in 2014, sparked a vocal campaign to save the channel, but BBC proceeded with the move -which was later hailed a success.

Since then, the BBC has lost 16-34-year-old viewers to Netflix and YouTube, and has been warned by media regulator Ofcom that it may not survive unless it regains its young audience.

Does anyone know whether any Australian broadcaster or streamer has obtained the rights to the ITV mini series Quiz. It sounds interesting and it is a story I remember.

The last time a live, top-flight league football match was broadcast on the BBC was during the 1987-88 season.

Also, Sky Sports will show 25 EPL matches for free for UK fans.
