The BBC has released official photos of the cast for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, including Delta Goodrem.
Does anyone need to watch it live though?
They both draw sizable live viewership, yes.
As the Telegraph put it:
It is difficult to square the BBC’s declared wish to save Newsnight from the chop with this move to “primetime” on Fridays. It’s a late-night show to its core and this shift, sandwiching it between travel and gardening fare, feels more like setting it up to fail. Fans can only hope it won’t.
Of course not…It’s always better to line your own nest than look after your employees if you’re in that position, isn’t it. ![]()
The 5Drama channel will debut on October 21, and feature a selection of British, American and Australian dramas.
Can we ignore one-sided criticism like this, please?
Everything competes against everything else on TV. It was football. Not all of us can multiview.
I’m sure the BBC had valid reasons for selecting a trio, but the issue I had with the initial announcement wasn’t simply whether Strictly could work with three presenters, but whether those three personalities would actually gel together.
Josh Widdicombe and Emma Willis both have more than enough ability to host a program, but I’m not convinced Strictly is the program for either of them.
Bradley Walsh, on the other hand, struck me as an ideal replacement for Bruce Forsyth. He has that warmth, charm and the qualities that could have filled the gap Bruce left behind, and that’s something I feel the show has greatly lacked.
The first ep of Season 2, which wrapped last week, has now been watched by an audience of 9.1 million, according to Barb data from overnights.tv.
Ludwig Season 2 ended last Thursday to 1.6 million overnight viewers but catch-up on BBC iPlayer has been where it has amassed serious numbers.
Ludwig season 2 is coming to Seven in 2027.
I have to agree that Bradley Walsh not being looked into as a host was a missed opportunity. He and Zoe Ball would’ve made a strong duo IMO. It seems Strictly wanted to go ‘young’ but went far too quickly without someone strong to hold the fort. Johannes is a great dancer but not sure what he’s doing in a hosting role, seems out of place.
