Wackadoo! Bluey hits new heights with record-breaking results

Australia’s #1 Children’s TV series, Bluey, returned with a bang on Sunday with the new season 3 episode setting an overnight launch record for the program on the ABC Kids channel.

The newest Bluey episode, ‘Cubby’, delivered an incredible overnight Total Audience of 1,498,000 making it the highest overnight premiere achieved by any Bluey episode since its inception in 2018.*

The total audience breakdown includes 866,000 overnight average audience (metro + regional) achieved by the morning premiere on broadcast, with another 149,000 watching the evening encore, and a 483,000 iview VPM. This VPM result is the highest launch VPM for any Bluey episode ever!

In addition, ‘Cubby’ set an ABC Kids broadcast channel record for the highest audience from any single broadcast dating back to 2008 when OzTAM began measuring ratings.*

Bluey, the biggest little show on Earth, continues to smash viewing records with each new tranche. It’s an incredible result and testament to the amazingly talented Joe Brumm and the team at Ludo. We are so grateful to all the kids, families, and audiences young and old who tuned in over easter. Some of the copycat Cubbies popping up on social media would make Bluey and Bingo proud.” said Libbie Doherty, ABC Head of Children’s.

New episodes of Bluey Series 3 continue weekly on Sundays at 8am and 6.20pm on ABC Kids and ABC iview until Sunday June 4th.

During these exciting new episodes, The Heeler family embark on more endearing and elaborate games and adventures. Bluey takes the day-to-day events of family life, like making a cubby house and a trip to the beach, and turns them into unique gameplay, creating idiosyncratic adventures out of everyday moments.

Neil Finn played the doctor in this week’s episode Exercise.

According to online guides, this morning’s episode Exercise will be repeated this Saturday, again before the 7pm news. I wonder if the main channel repeat will continue for the rest of series 3?

Its good to see children’s programs back on the main channel.

Playing this season out on Saturday nights (of 6.50pm) before the news may seem like an odd timeslot for it though. But i dont blame the ABC for airing Bluey as many times as possible. It is a popular show.

Dance Mode has debuted at #7 on this week’s ARIA albums chart.

Bluey Exercise updated

The recent episode of Bluey, Exercise , has been republished by the ABC following a decision by the makers of the program. The new version provides families with the opportunity to manage important conversations in their own way. As the home of Bluey, the ABC supports the decision to re-edit the program and we have updated the episode on our platforms. BBC Studios will use this revised version for global distribution and also support this decision.

Do the right have to turn everything into a political issue? FYL

I saw the original episode there was nothing wrong with and did not from my perspective shame a dogs body or any other body. Fact is it’s a real issue and children’s shows should address it.

Personally it was a non issue and it’s not a political right or left issue it’s more of health and diet.
