As mentioned in the Foxtel thread, BBC First is leaving Foxtel and Binge on July 31.
However, it looks like BBC First is also leaving Fetch TV, as it is not one of the channels retained by the platform under its contract extension with BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand.
It will be interesting to see if BBC First will be picked up by another platform in Australia. It is available on Sky New Zealand.
What other platform?
The content will likely be divided up between streaming services and free to air.
Replaced by new channel BBC Drama. Appears some stuff may end up premiering on BritBox locally (or picked up elsewhere) with second runs on BBC Drama. So likely same/similar shows, just not on there ‘First’.
Don’t think anyone caught the end of BBC First, but anyone bothered to take a look at what BBC Drama looks like on Fetch? Couldn’t find anything online with such a generic name…
