Not far enough.

So many GMs who switched off long ago yet only the four regional general managers have gone:

It was made clear to us (Radioinfo) that this restructure will only affect four people in the specialised role of RGM and will not impact local GMs.

Is the Nine News simulcast on River 94.9 over? Wasn’t on Monday night.

Do we know who were the RGMs?

@thesub1 seems to be Matt Chapman for regional Qld and Darwin (excluding GC, always been standalone and now metro with ARN as Hot Tomato always viewed themselves).

Peter Upton for Vic and SA.

Tim Holder for Tas.

Wendy Gee for NSW.

Hope he can assist in sorting out their dreadful playlist.

Speaking of River I’m sure reception is worse than ever in Brisbane. Was giving them a go in the car yesterday in the inner east and it was scratchy and awful. Station ID and RDS was even dropping out. Rebel and Breeze are HEAPS better than River these days. What’s going on?

Only makes sense for Pure Gold River94.9.

Worse in Toowoomba to…

Heard through the grape vine that when ARN took over they put the transmitter power levels back down where they are legally meant to be given the gain on their antenna system… if this is infact true I am not sure of

That would make sense. Something has definitely happened.

This may also be the case with 2ST with its signal now much weaker into Sydney too.
ARN don’t want to loose metro audience to their own fortuitous signals.

Seems weird. Particularly in the case of River where a lot of their advertising comes from Toowoomba and some from Brisbane’s western suburbs. If the lower power hampers reception in Toowoomba in particular that’s got to be a problem. They are a very strange company.

Also on 2ST, today while down in the Southern Highlands Grahame Day’s morning show was heard on both Coast 91.7 / 106.7 and Highlands 102.9 frequencies with the exact same content . The only thing that was different was the ads Shoalhaven V Highlands.

Now it appears apart from the ads and Breakfast both stations are now the same. Shoalhaven and Highlands also had dedicated morning shows up until recently.

Would hamper them in an even bigger way if the ACMA caught them running outside their licence conditions so if what I said is the case I don’t blame them for changing things to be doing everything right…
Keep in mind River 949 is not meant to be a toowoomba station, it just so happened that the antenna system they had designed for them gave them the ability to have coverage into toowoomba

Toowoomba’s geography also helps there.
