Yes, there are still some hidden gems in Australian radio, moreso in the community space, but a lot of it is stale and repetitive particularly in commercial radio, especially in regional areas where whole genres and eras of music can lack representation.

As an example, The Beatles were the biggest band on the planet, they’re still well known and highly regarded by younger people today, yet you never hear them on Australian FM radio unless it’s a community station. That to me is a sad state of affairs.

Precisely. Yet I still hear The Beatles on NZ and UK commercial stations.
