Hmmmm don’t think so…maybe the cheaper Flexiva LX but not what Nova have purchased… a mix of 10kW & 20 kW units - Nova have purchased them not BA and they are supported in Australia by Raeair P/L (which is Mario ex Comsyst & Alistair ex 2UE)
With recent events in Southern NSW, one would guess the conversion of 2EC in Bega might be pushed back?
2XL on 918khz was switched off today - gone forever

Depends at night you might get RNZ from New Zealand or 4VL from Charleville or Triple M from WA.
We are hoping to get the high powered outlet from Cambodia on 918!
Nowra’s turn to move to FM https://www.acma.gov.au/proposed-changes-nowra-radio-frequencies
2ST will be transmitting from Cambewarra Mountain on 91.7 with a maximum ERP of 10kW, with 5kW going towards Wollongong & Shellharbour. The station will also have a translator at Saddleback Mountain to serve Kiama on 88.5 with a maximum ERP of 5 watts, which should get towards Wollongong okay on a good radio.
For Southern Illawarra, 2ST would provide a key musical point-of-difference to i98 & Wave FM.
I think, at 5 watts, 88.5 will struggle to get into Wollongong.
It must be one of the lowest powered commercial FM transmitters in the country that is NOT operated under the self help scheme.
There is also the potential co-channel interference with 2RRR from Ryde to deal with there.
Having said that, given that its Cambewarra Mountain transmitter will be 65m high, its 91.7 service would be good enough to be heard into Wollongong on a good car radio.
Guess they would have to turn off the transmitter in Huskission in order to have the new transmitter on the air, plus in some areas the signal might interfere with Coast FM when that particular station moves from 96.3 to 91.7 during tropospheric ducting.
From the ACMA paper:
There are a lot more than the 2,550 who can get 2ST 102.9 FM in Sydney. How does AMCA make up these figures?
I believe it’s based on the fact that it gets the service at a rural-grade stereo level of at least 54dB.
2UUU also want to dramatically increase the power of their Shoalhaven Heads translator on 92.3 (10w>200w). They want it as a complementary service to mitigate interference, during tropo, on the main 104.5 signal from Star 104.5. 200 watts on 92.3 should get into Sydney and Newcastle via tropo; I have NEVER received the current 10 watt service from home. The transmitter site is inferior to 2BAB’s, though.
The 5 watt translator for Kiama is certainly interesting. I think it will get into Wollongong OK; from the top of Saddleback it’s direct LOS to the whole city and beyond. This is why such a low ERP is proposed.
