AFL Coverage

Why is 4BC not broadcasting the grand final even though the Lions are playing?

Last year with Sydney and Brisbane playing, CCT aired match coverage from 3AW but did their own not particularly relevant chatter at half time, then skipped a decent chunk of the 3rd and 4th quarters as it was obvious that Sydney wouldn’t win, which must’ve really annoyed the Brisbane audience which might have been interested in the game.

I’d suggest if 4BC don’t take the 3AW match coverage in full, then no coverage on 4BC is better than anything resembling last year’s effort.

Additionally, the 3AW coverage will be syndicated on 4BC in Brisbane, while you can listen to all the action in Sydney via the 2GB app.

obviously not

Good one 4BC

Clint Wheeldon will be calling his 10th AFL Grand Final on the ABC this afternoon.

There was live coverage on TalkSport 2 in the UK, however I’m not sure whether they provided their own commentary or took one of the Australian radio stations, and if so, which one?

Can’t confirm this at all- but I would suspect that they may have taken the Triple M commentary as this is what they use when they take NRL coverage (such as for Vegas, Origin and the Grand Final).

Would be curious to see 3AW’s Friday night ratings having broadcast AFLW for the last couple of months  surely Denis Walter starting at 7pm would rate much better!!

Seven Adelaide reporter Josh Money reported last night that former Port Adelaide premiership captain Warren Tredrea, who was removed from the club board yesterday, would not return to his commentary role at FiveAA for the 2026 season.

Sydney v Essendon just SEN/AFL Nation now (WARF Radio having to pull out late of that game)

Oh sorry top-flight sport is getting in the way of your right-wing talk.
