AFL Coverage

Might mention here that the Gold Coast call team (Liam Flanagan, Richard Champion, Simon Black and Belinda Mellen) are calling this match for Triple M in Melbourne, i guess that Quentin Hull and Michael Price will do the same for the ABC as well.

AFLW Rd 3 Radio Coverage

Friday
Richmond v Essendon (in Darwin) - MMM & SEN

Saturday
GWS v Adelaide - No radio coverage
St Kilda v West Coast - NIRS
Geelong v Sydney - ABC & WARF Radio
Port Adelaide v Gold Coast - 5AA, ABC & WARF Radio
Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn - 3AW, SEN & 3WBC

Sunday
Collingwood v Melbourne - Casey Radio & WARF Radio
Fremantle v Nth Melb Tas - 6PR & ABC
Brisbane v Carlton - WARF Radio

Quentin Hull, Michael Price, Jeff White and Matthew Primus with Zane Bojack on the boundary for ABC.
6PR will call the game from their Perth studio with Adam Papalia, Mark Readings and Will Schofield.
AFL Nation/SEN will also have a call.

First AFLW match of the year to be broacast on 5AA.

Matt Granland and Julian Marcus will commentate the match for 3AW, with Richmond player Bec Miller as expert and Sarah Burt on the boundary.

Also on NewsRadio in Queensland, but they had to wait for Parliament proceedings to finish first before being able to cross to the game in progress at about 8.15pm.

It was mentioned on Triple M today that Mark Howard and Nathan Brown will be calling the Grand Final for MMM this year.

No mention of special comments, but my guess would be Leigh Montagna and Steve Johnson (assuming Dale Thomas and Kate McCarthy will both have Channel 7 duties on the day).

I’m very surprised about Jack Heverin not being there considering he has been on Thu and Fri night all season, plus he did ANZAC Day (with Howie), ANZAC Eve, King’s Birthday, Easter Monday and 3/6 Sunday Night games.

My guess was that it would be Howie and Hev calling with Browny and Joey in specials.
But with this news, I’m thinking Joey and Isaac Smith more than Stevie J.

Triple M’s AFL finals coverage even bigger in 2025

This year’s finals call team includes James Brayshaw, Jason Dunstall, Brian Taylor, Kate McCarthy, Dale Thomas, Mark ‘Howie’ Howard, Xavier Ellis, Bernie Vince, Isaac Smith and Nat Yoannidis , ready to deliver a September to remember for AFL fans.

Interesting that both 3AW and 6PR are using their own commentators for this year’s finals (although 3AW’s Laura Spurway will be boundary reporter at the MCG for 6PR’s call of Geelong v Brisbane), rather than taking each other’s broadcast.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Hev’s on holidays knowing the NBL season basically starts just after GF time, where he calls 1-2 games every weekend

Obviously got some more sponsors this year?

LiSTNR has listed Triple M Gold Coast as covering both Fremantle v Gold Coast (AFL) and Titans v Tigers (NRL) this Saturday night, with both starting at 7.35pm local time. It will be interesting to see which game gets the FM frequency and which one will be bumped to DAB+.

The Titans can go to DAB. Suns are in their first finals game, and pending a miracle, Titans are getting a wooden spoon. Common sense prevails.

The information on the Listnr page is incorrect. Titans game actually has kick off at 5.30pm. So imagine they’d likely cover Titans game until the conclusion and then switch over to the start of the Suns game.
