AFL (2016-2024)

Are we really believing that it was Clarko’s choice to leave earlier than planned? I think he was pushed out the door.

I like Jeff Kennett and agree with a lot of things he says, but he should take accountability for this disaster. He couldn’t get over his grudge with Clarkson, not to mention that he couldn’t let his ego get out of the way, and I now think that the plan the whole time was for Clarkson to leave as soon as Kennett could get rid of him, knowing the rift that would happen internally at Hawthorn and the media storm that has been created out of the original announcement of the succession plan. Feel sorry for Alistair Clarkson. No way to treat a three-peat coach.

Hawthorn will be crossing their fingers and toes that they get regular wins on the board under Sam Mitchell. I think it’s all but certain that Clarkson will go to Collingwood.

No I think Clarkson was just waiting for that 1 million he is owed for next year.

It’s so weird to let go the best coach in the AFL for someone untested, just because your team did a bad job of recruiting players…

Was he part of that recruitment though? If I remember he was a big part of the Chad Wingard trade - which lets be real Port Adelaide won hands down.

He’s said that he isnt chasing a 2022 coaching spot - lets see if that eventuates or not

He’s welcome to start at the Pies in 2021 if he likes!

And Port Adelaide

Two clubs at once? I’d like to see that.

If anyone could do it it would be Clarko… But I should have written or Port. I think there are probably 17 clubs that wouldn’t say no to his services (in whatever role).

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the Saints do not want to win tonight, abysmal kicking for goal.

Makes sense good call. If any afl player or nfl player whinges about it , I’m going to scream. It doesn’t make sense to continue playing any sport at this stage in NSW or Queensland or any state given the variant . But you know money talks.

Looks like the AFL are going to ditch the bye before the finals and look at staggering the byes through the rest of the season

Unless the bye is the week before finals

they should all have a week off next week and re-assess after that. Or by all means split rounds.

Take a week off and you risk never getting a chance to restart. I think rolling byes through to the finals will be used, but never no games on a given weekend.

Agreed, have to continue as best you can. Maintain the momentum, not far from the finals series.
