I think do the study as well.
Do you think itās too much to expect that because Iāve done the job at a higher level for years already that as soon as Iāve finished studying I can jump from casual to Regional Manager or do you think theyād want me to literally work my way again even though Iāve already done the roles?
Hard to know, but I think showing that youāve studied the local āwayā and also have experience in the sector in NSW would show you are experienced and capable.
I mean like thereās no reason why if the company Iām with as a casual say they say no and want me to work up again, I could then just apply for Regional Manager job at another company and my resume would still say all the roles Iāve done AND I have the qualifications. They wouldnāt know I did it backwards and worked first then studied?
You know what I mean?
Like imagine I had enough savings for 2 years and didnāt even work as a causal. I could study then apply for Regional Manager job. Same thing. I would not have to work all the way up again cause I have the experience and qualifications.
I guess youād have to include that sort of info on a CV?
But you could easily say you wanted to upskill and expand your abilities.
Yeah I think itās time I accepted that I just should go back to the industry.
I know it so well and if living in QLD means I have to gain qualifications then Iām sure thatās a small price to pay for working in an industry that Iām very familiar with and provides plenty of opportunity.
I thought you needed the studying to go back to your previous role? Sorry if I misread it.
I do. Thatās what I meant by start again. Start at the bottom and study at the same time.
At least youād be working in the industry so you have local experience?
Thatās what Iām thinking.
The study shouldnāt be too difficult if Iāve been literally practicing it for 10 years right?
Can you use some of your work experience towards recognition of prior learning/skills? I was able to do this with my degree
Thatās a great question and one I didnāt think of.
Iāll have to do some research into that.
Thank you for sharing that. I really appreciate it.
If you have the funds and capacity, get away from where you are for at least one week.
Go somewhere youāve never been, immerse yourself, clear your mind from work and study, and youāll likely come back with a clearer idea of what you want to do.
This is probably a strange request for advice (and probably one thatās better suited to a medical professional), but does anyone know any methods for getting rid of laryngitis besides reasting voice and throat lozenges?
Honey. On its own or in a hot tea.
