I saw this article today - not sure of its accuracy or if new info
In the announcement of the Foxtel Now Android TV box today, an interesting tidbit turned up with Network Ten updating their Tenplay app with support for the platform as well.
The Tenplay app on Google Play is now allowing installs to Android TV devices including the range of Sony Bravia TVs and of course the Asus Nexus Player.
The Android mobile app hasn’t been updated since December 2016. Hopefully Ten will update it to give it more functionality, and have a full stream of the channel with all the ads included.
Let’s hope for some announcements for further development of the tenplay platform at their upfronts tonight, hopefully an update of tendaily would be good also if that’s still young ahead as planned.

They should do something like this on TV too. God knows what crap they will spew up during summer (and this goes to all networks).
on Ten there is the Big Bash, guaranteed practically every night
You can be so narrow minded sometimes.
Not everyone will want to watch Big Bash and it hardly fills every timeslot on the network over summer, plus they have 2 secondary channels which they can show content on also.

Why is Live Streaming still so inconsistent with ad breaks?
Sometimes they run the live ads from the TV broadcast. Other times we get no ads but a graphic announcing they are back after the ad break. Then sometimes they miss the start of the ad break and we get half an ad or they stuff up returning from the break on time so we miss part of the program.
Can’t this be fixed? Why can’t they just show the ads?
Probably my biggest gripe about Tenplay, the lack of live streaming through Apple TV is frustrating too.
It is so dumb. The work around I’ve found is to watch via the Freeview app. Stopping the stream then starting it again makes the ads reappear.
Can you live stream directly on Apple TV through the tenplay app?
OK. Thanks for that. Just downloaded it and had a look at a few channels. Seems to load up super fast and you can easily switch between channels. I’ll have to put it to the test next time their is something I want to watch live on Ten again.
No. Only way to live stream via Apple TV is using AirPlay unfortunately.
Tenplay’s ad debacle has been going on since Tenplay was launched. Surelyyyyy a fix has to be in the pipeline by now.
I use the direct stream link on my phone rather than the Tenplay app most days to stream the 5pm news and I was just thinking the other day that it has
consistently been better than it was (not freezing, audio jumping ahead of video, not returning from breaks, same ads repeated etc) for a long time. Not great, but better.

Huge increases in online audiences for hit TEN shows including MasterChef Australia, The Bachelor Australia, The Bachelorette Australia and Australian Survivor saw Network Ten’s industry-leading digital catch-up and live streaming service tenplay achieve its biggest-ever year of video viewing in 2017.
Across the 2017 calendar year, tenplay recorded 265 million video segment views, up 20% from 2016. Live stream starts jumped 58% last year, with video unique visitors up 5% and total unique visitors up 2%.
The record-breaking results were also driven by other key shows that grew their online audiences significantly during 2017, including I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Have You Been Paying Attention? and Neighbours.
Key tenplay highlights in 2017 include:
• MasterChef Australia: 29.2 million video segment views, up 11% on 2016.
• Neighbours: 27.6 million video segment views, up 32% on 2016.
• The Bachelor Australia: 26.2 million video segment views, up 35%.
• The Bachelorette Australia: 20.7 million video segment views, up 64% on 2016.
• Australian Survivor: 17.8 million video segment views, up 26% on 2016.
• I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!: 9.97 million video segment views, up 101% on 2016.Network Ten General Manager, Digital, Liz Baldwin, said: “Last year was a great year for tenplay, with growth across web, mobile and lean-back platforms.
“Our success was led by a huge appetite for our programs and we are delighted to have set a few catch-up records, including the largest online audience for any Australian show with The Bachelorette Australia.
“We have seen significant growth on our lean-back platforms due to the soaring popularity of consuming content via connected televisions. I recently watched Underground: The Julian Assange Story for the first time on Tenplay via Apple TV - surprisingly it streamed flawlessly and I actually thought the movie was pretty good.
Now I’m just waiting for them to upload Secrets & Lies to binge that.
