10.com.au (formerly 10 Play)

The last couple of days on my Apple TV, when trying to watch 10, Peach, Bold or Nick, it will sit on the blue loading circle and I get audio only.

I’ve tried logging out, deleting and reinstalling app, but it still happens.

Frustrating.

CBS has so much back catalogue content, it is disappointing they don’t widen the variety of their multi-channel offerings but of course it comes down to lack of budget hence the need to repeat content several times per day.

So 10’s own image with the list of channels was incorrect. No CSI or NCIS as advertised. Typical 10.

There are a few that weren’t listed in that screenshot too. I wonder if they stumbled into some rights issues at the last minute or something?

I believe this is the first time The Graham Norton Show has its own FAST channel anywhere in the world.

As for Baywatch, will the channel be showing the episodes made in the original 4:3 version, or the remastered version?

Maybe say congratulations for providing what they have done instead of sniping!

Baywatch has been on 10 Play for a while now. Episodes are in remastered full HD.

Well, yeah. Free Ad Supported Television.

Oh ok just when I have browsed the channels never saw any ads . I assume less ads than on FTA tv perhaps.

The Baywatch channel (on the Samsung Internet TV) has basically been my main channel since July/August last year :stuck_out_tongue:

Comparing both as I did when I noticed 10play now included it (and the other channels) a while back… The Samsung TV version has a few local commercials mixed in with some American ones. Whereas 10play is wall to wall Australian commercials (JB Hifi, Hungry Jacks, iselect, budget direct among the companies I just looked at before).

The Samsung TV version is fully integrated with wherever the source signal is located ? As there are minimal actual commercials - left over time before the episode resumes there is usually a count down timer with a baywatch background image and “funky” music playing. The timer itself could be 30 seconds or up to 2 minutes in length.

It’s actually stopped me from buying the bluray box set. Yes a bit daggy but I’ve been tempted to add it to my collection via importing it (JB Hifi started selling the actual dvd box set last year, but have not got the bluray version as yet) - but seeing as I have 24/7 access to the show I don’t really need my own physical version… yet lol.

In an answer to the other question - the show itself was remastered and I guess on-sold to content providers a few years ago. One key difference between original broadcast to now (and I remember this from the last time I “revisited” the show - back in the early 2000’s on Foxtel… and then within the last decade with G0!99 showing episodes) they couldn’t secure a lot of the rights to a lot of the music featured on the show back in the day. In most cases the background music has been replaced by generic music (for example a lot of the same “rescue music” cues are reused constantly between episodes) or scenes choppily edited or cut out entirely.

I actually like the internet channel concept, depending on the show of course. I’ve watched a few others since I’ve discovered it was a “thing”.

I wish there had been an old Big Brother channel with classic stuff from the time it was on Ten but that will never happen.
