Did they forget the “s” on the end? I thought it was Blankety Blanks

No, they didn’t. The name is correct.

So it is… the UK version is singular, but we’ve had it as a plural.

What confuses me is this still doesn’t fix the main (at least in my view) problem with 7’s afternoons, in TCA being a dead format. Is adding MORE game shows going to do anything better than giving it a dead cat bounce?

To be frank, I’m not ruling out Alex getting the 5pm slot for yet another bulletin.

Unless Seven has a replacement program ready.

Then we can do Natarsha across the afternoon’s eight updates prior to that hour.

So, in between the game shows we’ll see a news update with Alex at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm only. Then the afternoon at 4pm.

Interesting to see if it will be just a quick news update or a mini-bulletin at the top of the hour.

We’ll have twice as much Bradiley Walsh with Blankety Blank at 1pm and then The Chase UK at 3pm.

There hasn’t been a Midday Movie for a while now with the introduction of the Midday News. But unfortunately, the 1pm Movie on Thursdays and Fridays (i think) are now gone :frowning:

The shark hasn’t just been jumped it’s been circled, harassed, caught in a net, released, beached, released and eaten a few of whatever brain cells were left in the programming department at Seven.

The 1.00, 1.30 and 3.00 AEST updates are mini-bulletins.

Other than that it’s just headline flashes that can extend when the news requires.

If the news absolutely requires, start rolling.

To me it seems that they are trying all the UK game show options to see what can replace The Chase…

Doesn’t really scream serious news promotion IMO, he looks like a game show host the way they have produced that promo.

Could we see a revival of Blankety Blanks in Australia in the afternoon?

Said it here first!

I think it is quite a good promo. But as others have said, Alex is a very expensive hire for news updates. A Melbourne reporter could do that.

Not sure if will do much to address the problem that it is trying to. The Chase UK could have been bumped to an earlier slot.

The will revert that decision. Wait until they get bombarded of calls by the oldies that the movies have stopped!

A check of the TV guide next week shows they are still repeats from 2018. Seven have shown these over and over

Their resistance to showing newer episodes is simply baffling

I can’t see this working nightly. Will give Bridge of Lies a go though, not a show I’m familiar with

They had one on yesterday at 1pm as far as I know.

From the Mail.

An insider told Daily Mail that Alex is at the heart of what has been described as a ‘total shakeup’ of Seven’s afternoon content.

‘He’s now going to be on all afternoon as the face of Seven,’ an insider said.

'It’s a total shake-up where he’ll be delivering news updates on the hour, every hour from the Melbourne studio and also hosting new afternoon giveaways on-air.’

They added: ‘It’s more news, new game show programming, plus more chance for people to win prizes at home – a total new look in the afternoons.’

Along with a daytime news bulletin, there will also be a giveaway every hour, sandwiched between Seven’s game show content.

Now that gets more exciting. News, games and gameshows - much better mix.

There’s your answer for where the ad load subtly goes.

Are we sure Anthony De Ceglie hasn’t come back from the Bears to create this?
