Nine (WIN)

Should be “We chose Australia to be one of our several logos, because that’s who we are, the truly dysfunctional network”

Of course someone who lives overseas would go so far to paint themselves as so Aussie.

Oh and if it was honest that promo would say “Irritating Australia”.

A new version of the promo for Ten Eyewitness News:

The main change is the promo end board:

Given WIN’s love for inflicting mappy (huge & solid, constantly displayed during programming), I’m surprised it isn’t used in most promos.

Also, given this promo, I keep thinking there must be a contractual provision in the affiliation agreement that WIN can’t use cover-ups during Ten Eyewitness News.

I remember the years of WIN’s ownership of Nine NWS Adelaide. The lesser educated in media me was rather confused when WIN Network promos came up on screen, and the fact that we received WIN Gold over Extra. Thank god those days are over…

I personally have no issue with WIN using their own branding (other than personal spite that we all share) or even mappy in their “Entertaining Australia” promos but they must spare us from the mappy mudmark.

Nice to see they’ve replaced that Perth scenery with Townsville scenery.

I’d say this is likely because Ten are producing most of their promos and Ten are more sensible.

Ten produce all the promos (except for the WIN local news ones) & WIN then butcher them; usually with the Ten-style circle WIN logo covering the Ten one during most of it & then at the end the WIN you see in @Abesty cap above & the “on Ten” voiceover replaced by one of a set of “on WIN” VOs recorded by the Ten voiceover person.
My point was I’d have expected the WIN logo at the end to be mappy rather than the (better) one they are using (above).

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that Ten provide the promos to WIN with the WIN circle logo on them instead of a Ten one.
Hence why mappy isn’t used on them.

Yep. The lineups kind of prove that Ten does all the promotional stuff for them.

WIN are like the people in the group assignment that don’t give a fuck and are lazy as shit, where as Ten are like those who only give a shit to pass or get a credit (but has to do all the work to pass).

It was only dropped because the company running it went into administration. Otherwise, it would probably still be on-air.

I doubt Bruce cares much about picture quality, only have to watch his news to see that.

I had pondered that perhaps his eyesight isn’t as good as it once was, and that’s why he wanted mappy, etc. to be bigger & solid (so he could see them clearly, & he might not notice crystal clarity).

WIN airing their own programming on ANZAC Day morning.

At 6:00am, they have scheduled “Return to ANZAC”, instead of Ten’s “Entertainment Tonight”

WIN airs Family Feud at 6am weekdays.

WIN has been in discussions with St George-Illawarra to take a 50% ownership stake in the club, but the talks have been going on for more than a year. Meanwhile, the club has improved it’s on-field performance and as a result a rival bidder has emerged!!

What do they mean by “Table-topping”?

That they are at the top of the NRL ladder - they were a couple of weeks ago, now second.

Is this just so Bruce can get mappy shown on Nine’s NRL coverage? :smiling_imp:
