Wentworth

The reason that that season felt a little bit lackluster is because the 20 episodes are actually all one season just divided into 2 parts, so this was only the end of the first half of the season.

I’m not normally one for supporting spin off shows because they just don’t really seem anywhere near as good but I think Wentworth would be able to pull it off and I hope they get the chance to do it.

While I agree the season (or half season) did go a little slowly at times, there were still plenty of twists and turns, especially in the way that Joan Ferguson worked out through the series. Wentworth certainly has a way of mixing things up and making things dramatic regularly at the end of an episode too - managing to tidy up a story line but providing more questions than answers regularly which is a good thing. It’s a show I’ve definitely kept interest in and I feel is one of the best around and great that it’s an Australian show - I like it much more than OITNB.

I got into this during the lockdown period and watched all episodes. Is it bad that I want to rewatch it again already? Have others watched this show more than once?

The final season will premiere on August 24.

An August premiere date is very late compared to previous seasons.

Bitter sweet feeling - can’t wait to see but don’t want to say goodbye. Just brilliant TV :disappointed_relieved:

The final season of Wentworth will premiere on Sky Atlantic in Germany on July 21 with double episodes.

So it will screen in Germany before Australia. Overseas broadcasters and streaming services appreciate Australian content more than Australia does.

Sad, isn’t it?

Or, Germany is presumably getting the 10 episodes that make up the first half of the final season from July 21. If it airs double episodes each week, Sky Atlantic will be able to start screening the second half of the final season (The Final Sentence) on August 25, one day after Australia.

We will have to wait and see.
