Please note: The report includes catch up minutes only and is not restricted to the five metropolitan cities. Live streaming channel viewing is not included. When broadcasters upgrade their video players, player measurement SDKs may take time to reach consumer devices (consumers need to update their apps) and may temporarily result in an under-reporting of a broadcaster video player figures. Refer to the VPM Guidelines at the [OzTAM website] (www.oztam.com.au)
VPM Rating: total minutes played divided by content length (rounded to the nearest '000); Length (mins): duration in minutes of the program content; Minutes: total number of minutes played across measured devices (rounded to the nearest '000); BVOD Reach: total number of times the video content began to play. Posted date: the day the video content was first made available to play. Top Programs are for episodes with a minimum length of 15 minutes.

Nine had an easy win in the first week of the ‘official’ ratings year with a main channel share close Seven’s network share and the highest network and main channel shares of 2021 so far.

Seven remained competitive while 10 was fourth with a main channel in single figures.

Nine won all markets except Perth that was won by Seven – 13 points clear of Nine.

In the key demos, Nine was 10 points clear of second placed Seven. 10 was third approx 4 points below Seven.

Huge plunge for VPM ratings for MAFS reunion specials as people’s attention switched to the Australian Open.
Aftertaste’s VPM ratings held up despite its TV audience falling.

Nine had a very good start to the Official ratings year thanks to the Australian Open, despite ratings down from last year.

So, Aus Open in official ratings, Nine up year-on-year (even though Married this time last year), while Seven down year-on-year (even though flopped MKR last year). Interesting.

Live VPM data will be interesting when released, as 9Now has been huge this week.

So the delay to the AO didn’t disadvantage 9 at all, it just gave them extra winning content in the ratings period. They’ll win the first 2/3 weeks due then the AO and still have MAFS up their sleeves. 7’s job of trying to win the year just got even harder!

Yes.

But the Aus Open’s ratings itsself are down and with Kyrgios now gone, hard to see a 1.9m metro number like last year coming and tonight is risky. Only hope is a ‘Barty Party’

Well interestingly on Tuesday, compared to the same night last year, Holey Moley only had 10,000 more viewers. Which begs the question did 7 give up on MKR too early and should have they tried a back to basics season first.

Yes, they did.
