Seven improved its network share in week 21 to the best result in three weeks. That was largely at the expense of ABC with Nine, 10 and SBS largely unchanged. However, Nine won the key demo groups again. The win saw Seven pull ahead of Nine in average share across the year.

The Floor’s two episodes were the top entertainment shows of the week. Also making the top 10 were The 1% Club and Travel Guides.

Home and Away was the top scripted program with Tipping Point the number one quiz show recording its highest rating week ever. That put it ahead of Have You Been Paying Attention? that ranked 19th and The Chase in 25th place.

Farmer Wants A Wife also made the top 20 along with ABC’s top non-news entry The Piano.

Seven News was the top news service; A Current Affair was an easy number one at 7pm while 60 Minutes stayed ahead of 7News Spotlight. AFL Thursday and Friday Night games made the top 30 as NRL Thursday was best for its code 33rd.

Just outside the top 30 were two MasterChef episodes in 31st and 32nd places.

Meanwhile The Cheap Seats did well to make the top 30 in 25-54 where it joined Have You Been Paying Attention? as the highest rated shows to start after 8.30pm in that key demo.

The 9Network took out all five of the Top 5 CFTA programs of the week with People 25-54: two episodes of The Floor, together with Travel Guides, 9News Sunday and 9News.

The Floor took took out the Top 2 programs of the week with People 25-54 & 16-39. It was also the No. 1 & No. 2 highest rating non-news programs of the week with GS 18+ and Total People. To date, Tuesday’s episode has a National Total TV Average Audience of 1.142 million and Monday’s episode has a National Total TV Average Audience of 1.109 million

9News Sunday was the No. 1 news program of the week across Australia with People 25-54, recording a Total TV Average Audience of 1.255 million.

A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot across Australia, with a National Total TV Average Audience of 1.056 million viewers per episode.

Tipping Point was Australia’s No. 1 afternoon game show, with a National Total TV Average Audience of 833,000 viewers per episode - 134,000 viewers ahead of its competitor.

In 2024 Seven was on 30.1% and NIne on 27.3%.

Though there are other factors, the loss of Saturday AFL has had an impact.
