The Block recorded its highest Wednesday rating of this season and was up +30k from last week to 1.25m. The second episode of the new season of RFDS held onto all the audience from last week’s premiere to be the closest competition with 777k.
ABC’s Hard Quiz slipped below 600k but still made the top 10 while Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly picked up a few more viewers but could still only manage 252k for 10. The final episode of The People vs Robodebt had 164k for SBS.
Nine’s nostalgic look back at the Sydney 2000 Olympics did well to top 500k. Off The Grid With Colin And Manu was up 40k this week while House Of Wellness that followed managed 172k.
Mother And Son was down 30k for ABC while The Gilded Age made the top 30 reach rankings for 10.
Earlier, Nine News had another big win at 6pm with a margin of 76k to be the number one show of the day. At 5pm Tipping Point was 150k ahead of The Chase that slipped below 600k. That followed Nine’s Afternoon News pulling almost 100k ahead of Seven’s. A Deal Or No Deal repeat had 115k at 7pm with 10 News+ on 129k.
Sunrise had an easy win though the margin to Today was down to 76k.

The Chase Australia Wednesday: National reach 1.19 million, national audience 591,000. Off The Grid With Colin And Manu : National reach 1.02 million, national audience 484,000. Up 9% on last week. Sunrise Wednesday: #1 breakfast program. National reach 893,000, national audience 396,000. 24% more viewers than Today.
Good result for RFDS. With The Block finishing in a couple of weeks, RFDS should be able to dominate the 7.30pm Wednesday timeslot for the rest of the season.
The Block was Australia’s No. 1 program with People 25-54 and People 16-39. It was also a dominant timeslot winner with Total People across all five metro capitals. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.130 million, a Total TV National Audience of 1.251 million - up 17.8% year-on-year and a BVOD Audience of 282,000 - up a huge 80.8% year-on-year.
9News was Australia’s No. 1 program with GS18+ and Total People. It was also the No. 1 news in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Total People. The combined national bulletins registered a National Total TV Reach of 2.044 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.312 million (up 14.1% year on year). On 9Now, it secured a BVOD Audience of 165,000 - up a huge 75.5% year-on-year.
A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot across Australia with Total People and all key demographics. It had a National Total TV Reach of 1.784 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.167 million - up 12.5% on the same night last year. On 9Now, it registered a BVOD Audience of 147,000 - up by 70.9% year-on-year.
Tipping Point Australia was the No.1 afternoon game show across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide with Total People. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.415 million and a Total TV National Audience of 742,000 - up 13.3% on the same night last year. On 9Now its BVOD Audience of 92,000 - was up an impressive 87.8% year-on-year.
Sydney 2000 - The Best Ever secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.631 million and a Total TV National Audience of 516,000. On 9Now its BVOD Audience registered 70,000.
Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Sydney and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 806,000, a Total TV National Audience of 320,000 - up 2.9% year-on-year. On 9Now its BVOD audience was 49,000 - up 48.5% year-on-year.
Despite a big win nationally and in the 5-city markets for Nine, Seven won Adelaide and Perth.
Nine News wins by over 150,000! By way of comparison Nine’s winning margin on this day in 2024 was 10,000. A remarkable change with Nine’s audience up almost 200,000 - how many of those are ex Project viewers? After posting its lowest Tuesday rating of the year yesterday, Seven News Sydney posts its lowest Wednesday rating since February.
Tipping Point pulls ahead in all markets except Perth where The Chase has a chance of winning the week. Huge margin in Brisbane.
Sunrise is just 2,000 ahead of Today with News Breakfast down on usual. Big Sydney win for Today while Sunrise ahead in Melbourne.
For something different on a Wednesday. Here are some multichannel program ratings. While OZTAM only lists the network, I think I have worked out which channel they are from subject to feedback. Note that 10’s multies numbers cover more than one episode.
Thanks for these. Some numbers there giving 10 a run for its money, however considering these are national, pretty sad how few are watching. If these were only metro like before, they’d be looking healthy but alas.
I know FTA has changed, but the investment in these channels is pretty dead.
Sunrise was really strong in Sydney for some time (I recall connecting on the “big” numbers), now that has reversed? Melbourne closer again, Brisbane not as strong. The audience seems fickle on the east coast.
