Seven just ahead nationally as Nine won Sydney and Melbourne. MasterChef wins the 7.30 timeslot with its highest number of the week as the Leader’s Debate gets 3rd place ahead of House Rules. Decades does well for Nine.

7food comes to the rescue for Seven again. Your Gen outrates MasterChef in Melbourne.

Decades beat The Bay which fell from last week’s debut.

#5

Safe to say House Rules if officially dead now? I’d imagine fairly costly to produce.

#6

I don’t think it will go anywhere next year. It probably pays for itself and it does seem to slowly increase throughout the season. It might be moved to earlier next year depending on how long the new MKR goes for. Personally I think a cricket promotion would suit this show more.

The equivalent episode last year rated 651k, so its only down 65k.

Seven News winning Melbourne over the news hour just.

As long as it stays above 500k, Seven would be satisfied. Older skewing demos are an issue though

You know when Griggs’ own BH&G is outrating her own other much bigger show, that there’s problems…

#11

I don’t think it’s dead. I still think they need time to grow. Without any competition against Nine, I still think seven will have good numbers for this house rules show

I’m not sure if they’re in the same timeslot, but it looks like Selling Houses Australia on Lifestyle might be taking viewers away from House Rules as well.

Pretty solid figures for Talkin Bout Your Generation, even if it skews a little old. I still wish the pacing was a bit faster though.

#14

I can’t imagine 7 would be satisfied with anything below 700k for one of their staple shows, especially against minimal competition.
No doubt they altered the format this year in response to last year’s poor numbers. The fact that this season is down on last year, is not a good sign.

#15

They renewed it last year with figures below 700k so that’s obviously an incorrect assumption.

And they made substantial changes this season in response to last year’s numbers.
I’m not saying it won’t be renewed, but I doubt 7 executives are breathing a side of relief.
9 most certainly wouldn’t be popping champagne if The Block was pulling 600k.

Fair point. I don’t watch the show so I didn’t realise changes were made. I still can’t see 7 giving it the chop.

#18

I Feel that this House Rules show will survive and get renewed if they continue to maintain a steady growth.

#19

Wasn’t this on the slide last year? Can’t believe it came 2nd behind Masterchef and ahead of House Riles. It’s crap.

#20

To me TBAYG is more entertaining than both Masterchef and especially House Rules.
