Seven had a narrow win in a closely fought Wednesday. The network increased its share from the previous week mainly at the expense of 10 that was down 2 share points. Nine was the winner in the two biggest markets of Sydney and Melbourne while Seven won elsewhere. It was, however, 10 that won the key demo groups.

There was a notable drop week-on-week for the 6pm news bulletins. MasterChef was again dominant at 7.30 despite a 30,000 drop from the previous week. Doctor, Doctor also lost audience while Britain’s Got Talent recovered after dipping last week.

Later The Weekly won its timeslot ahead of Paramedics, a second episode of Britain’s Got Talent and The Secrets She Keeps that dropped this week.

MasterChef and The Project took out the top two places in all three key demo groups.

BTW This is the 2,000th ratings topic on this version of Media Spy :boom: :boom:

Is it the news that keeps them winning?
Surely they’re tanking in the demos. Not sure they’d be booking much revenue for Britains Got Talent.

Congratulations on the 2000th ratings topic TV Cynic :tada:

The double episodes of BGT lifted Seven’s shares to a surprise win last night.

MasterChef and The Secrets She Keeps both fell from last Wednesday, costing 10 valuable ratings points.

Nine’s fall in primary shares was cushioned by increases in the shares of 9Life and 9Rush.

Happy 2000th ratings topic. Woo hoo

Double length of Britain’s Got Talent didnwell, and better than i thought it would get.

Doctor Doctor should be rating better

Both Doctor Doctor and Paramedics used to do big business for 9, now both being beaten or not doing much better than cheap filler programming from 7.

Good to see The Project being competitive with Home & Away in total people, and cleaning up the demos last night behind MasterChef.

It’s a shame TSSK isn’t doing better in total people though, for such a high quality drama. Does it fair better in the demos @TV.Cynic?

The Secret She Keeps (did I get the name right) does pretty well in encores though.

Secrets She Keeps had 388,000 down from 399,000 the week before.

Best demo is 16-39 where it ranked 10th, In 18-49 it was 12th and 25-54 19th.

More ratings numbers.

It seems like Nine is just as vulnerable as Seven without a successful reality show. Having said that, Nine is in a more fortunate position because a lot of their reality shows are still doing well (MAFS, Lego, Voice, Ninja Warrior, Block). Seven has none so far.

As much as I appreciate a drama like Doctor Doctor in the 7.30 slot, in hindsight maybe it would be better for Paramedics to go at 7.30 and Doctor Doctor go back to the original time slot of 8.30 (as it has been earlier this year) so that viewers will still be able to find it at the original time? Plus I can imagine Paramedics being a better ‘anchor’ show for the night.

Surprised Britain’s got talent actually recovered. Let’s hope that Seven executives have been watching so that whenever the show gets back to production they’ll be able to replicate that standard of production instead of the cheap version we got last year.

10 as usual did very well. Secret she Keeps not doing fantastically which is sad for Australian drama but it fairs alright in the demos.

Correct. If Nine was without much reality they wouldn’t rate half as well. On the other hand, if Seven had plenty of shows that rate, then Nine wouldn’t stand a chance at winning consecutively, and Seven wouldn’t be in such a hole the past two years (but they’ve only got themselves to blame for tossing out shows that performed half well and commissioning garbage The Super Switch and The Proposal).

Deserves more. It’s an excellent drama. 10 would be wise to onsell it to Netflix once it’s premier run is over if at all possible.

It wouldnt surprise me if Doctor Doctor is doing less numbers than previously due to Nine delaying the series and it airing overseas first. Many fans may have already seen the series through other methods. delaying the 2nd half of the series almost a month and changing the timeslot will also possibly not helped.

They do not own the rights to distribute the show.
I read on Media week I think that the model used for this show that investors (10 and Screen Australia) would get a cut of international sales so that is encouraging that there is some backend return for the network.

Important to remember that almost all scripted content rises 20% or so in 7 day and 35% or so in 28 day viewing

With regards to doctor doctor And the secrets she keeps
