SOO Game 1 was down slightly in all markets compared to last year when it had 2,321,000 watching. It was the number one show in NRL markets; probably the biggest drop was Melbourne were it dropped from being the number one show last year to rank 5th this time. However, Nine still recorded a massive 45% share, winning all markets except Perth where Seven had an easy victory.

Week to date share is Nine 33.9, Seven 26.9%.

Massive ratings again for SOO. Nine winning in Adelaide shows the series has appeal in the city.

2.178 million metro viewers watching Origin. I think it is still a very strong rating program. 52 191 people turned out to the Suncorp Stadium And it is still a great crowd, the next match at Optus Stadium will draw a bigger crowd of 64000 at the stadium. I think that Next match, It will be an easy win for Nine in Perth for the next game.

Game 1 is now the highest rating program on Australian television in 2019 (based on Metro, Regional and National average audiences).

What slots are letting Bold down at the moment. I feel it does huge figures between 7:30-10:30 but still only manages around 3.5%. Is the 6:00-7:30 slot doing badly? Could they not air another of NCIS/LA at 6:30?

I don’t think they can air ncis la at 6:30 on 10bold because an M rated show is not allowed to.

Isn’t it? I thought this was different for the multi channels?

This was to be expected with none of the recognisable Storm superstars playing in the game anymore. It still beat MasterChef (apart from the pre-game portion) which is a solid result.

This does apply to primary channels and multichannels. Because you cannot have an MA15+ show at 7:30pm on FTA. That will mean that they will need to make more edits to a few episodes and will probably shorten the episode by a few minutes.

Surprised Nine News didn’t hit million.

Was Celeb Name Game up again last night? Hopefully it can crack the 300k mark soon (is that allowed)?

Serious questions need to be asked about what’s wrong with the 2nd half of Nine News Sydney when Seven can beat them at 6.30pm on State of Origin night!

Allowed and supported.

I personally think 10 needs to look at how they schedule their programming. I think they should move the game shows to 5pm, and move 10 News First to 5:30?

But then you have three game shows head to head and three news programs head to head. Ten will be the loser again. Worse than now.

Yes, it has pros and cons.

Seems like it has more cons. They will always run a distant third if they launch the same program against 7 and 9. At least they can attract a sponsor and demographic the other two don’t if they go for an alternative. I am not sure a game show is the solution for 6pm - although Feud did have some success to begin with, but I am not sure 10 News First is the answer either.

I think 10 just has to accept the fact that their 6pm slot just won’t rate well for them.

Nine News 6.30 Syd beat Seven News 6.30 (Nine got 317,000, Seven 304,000).
