Nine continued its winning streak with its best Wednesday share since March. 10’s share was down almost 3 while all other networks improved week-on-week.

Nine won the east coast markets with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth.

The Block posted its highest Wednesday share of this year, up over 100k from last week. Highway Patrol was also up on Seven as The Masked Singer USA failed to attract an audience for 10 ranking 26th.

Planet America at 9:30 posted a season high for its post debate coverage with ABC News coverage of the debate topped the multichannels.

Bad start for The Masked Singer USA. Perhaps viewers think that watching the Australian version is enough? 10 will be hoping the ratings will increase for episode 2 as the AFL will be its only major rival tonight.

I wont go off track much but I do wonder if a UK season of Masked Singer would rate better as UK reality stars and Sports stars seem to be better known.
People also like to jump onto social media with the clues as they air, however from what I read, a lot of people found out who was unmasked by doing their research last night.
So Fast Tracking is important. The project held up however, with a switch off after.

Is that the first time a TBBT episode has appeared in Top 20 for Peach?

Ok 10 made the right call preempting the move to Saturdays.

Debate coverage:

ABC News coverage as seen in the multichannel list was the highest rated coverage. Nine News coverage also did well at about 80% of ABC’s rating. Seven’s coverage was not as well received and rated lower than The Morning Show that it followed.

Most likely because it wasn’t timetabled properly and wasn’t promoted as much as Nine’s coverage.

I thought it might have rated higher. I watched it but admittedly wasn’t too invested on it. E.g. I’m too old to know much of the names they talked about, but it’s good for some light entertainment.

I knew The Masked Singer US wouldn’t be popular but didn’t expect it to rate that badly. Unless you follow the American culture (entertainment, sports, etc), it’s not going to be appealing in Australia. I just hope that Ten will continue to show this until the end.

It’s also very over the top American in its style. It really did flop badly.

It seems when you put an American twist in some form:
Gogglebox USA, The Masked Singer USA, America’s Got Talent as examples,
then things flop.
It does show that TV audiences want more local content.

It Could be a case of viewers just not liking the US humour or attitude. Because Britain’s Got Talent seemed to rate a lot better than the US version.

I don’t really know why, but I often find American shows of this ilk are sometimes too slickly produced and lack a bit of authenticity.
Or maybe it’s just that as Aussies, we can relate to Brits better than we can Americans. Either way, I tend to give American reality shows a wide berth, but usually quite enjoy UK ones.

I just watched the first performance and the judges reaction to that was just way over the top. Where do you go from there? Do you have to get up, dance and yell out to every performance like that?

Also the audience reaction sounded fake. There was clearly no audience there so cutting to audience just looked so obviously fake.

I found the Australian version way more over the top. At least their host doesn’t shout all the time like Osher. Plus almost everybody had better voices than on the Australian version.

The judges weren’t reacting over the top for every performance in the Australian version.
