Nine recorded its best Wednesday share since Easter up two share points from the previous week. ABC also lifted from the previous week’s low as 10 lost ground with a last minute decision to pull the premiere of Tommy from the 8:45pm spot. Seven was also down.

It was otherwise fairly close with less than four points between the three commercial networks. Nine won the east coast while Seven led Adelaide and Perth. 10 ranked second in Melbourne and won the key demographic groups including 16-39 where the network was nine points clear of second placed Nine.

MasterChef topped the entertainment shows with its highest overall ranking (4th) for a Wednesday, again doing the heavy lifting for 10 with over one million viewers.

ABC line up improved after posting series lows the week before. House Rules managed 505,000 for its first Wednesday episode since opening week, down on Britain’s Got Talent from the previous Wednesday. That was just ahead of Nine’s Taronga: Who’s Who In The Zoo on 503,000 which was up 50,000. Later, Paramedics was also up week-on-week. The Project was again a big driver of 10’s success in the demos.

10 suffered a big drop from last Wednesday without a first run drama after 8.30pm. I wonder how Tommy would have rated on debut had it not been pulled from the schedule on Tuesday?

House Rules improved somewhat from Tuesday’s series low but trailed well behind MasterChef. Doesn’t look good for the winner announcement on Sunday.

What did 10 air at 8:30? It is a real pity 10 didn’t have Playing for Keeps ready. It would have really benefited.

They don’t have it ready because they aren’t making it?

Ratings: Another win for Nine in overnight ratings but MasterChef dominant at 7.30

You know your primetime tentpole is in big trouble when an overseas talent show in Britain’s got Talent rated higher this time last week. Maybe Seven should consider giving Australia’s Got Talent (when it’s ready to go back into production) a go this time next year.

How gracious of Nine not to overclaim any of its timeslot wins, even though it was only in the East Coast.
I can’t imagine even with Tommy, Ten would’ve done too much better than the 330k that Bull got. Had it got more viewers, it may have just come from the NCIS franchise on Bold and kept the share similar anyway.

House Rules is a tired old format that probably wouldn’t be around if not for product placement deals. Seven have a lot riding on Big Brother being a success.

Another big night for MCA at the 7.30pm timeslot

Oh look, Seven News Sydney won the 6.30pm half hour. Not only that, but their numbers increased while Nine’s decreased!

(Prepares to be thrown things at by David, 1169 and others).

:unamused:

At least you recognise your flaming posts now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? I would say their antagonistic comments have been worse than my observations (which have only been made at the relevant times) about credibility issues with Nine’s Sydney weather presenters/coverage potentially affecting the ratings.

Haven’t seen a thread for this yet (if there is one please let me know), but thoughts on Big Brother ratings for its premiere next Monday? When I first heard the show was coming back I was truly against it, but I’ve been hearing bits and pieces from radio interviews/promo and it sounds interesting enough that I would want to tune in. They’ve apparently changed it to a family-friendly show but I’m not too sure if that’s been advertised enough to get that demographic watching. The targeted younger demographic back in the day probably don’t watch free-to-air TV anymore, and those who used to watch it are probably wary of putting it on when their kids are watching.
It’ll definitely make for some very interesting ratings come Tuesday morning, I know I’ll definitely be keeping watch to see how the battle goes between The Voice, Masterchef and Big Brother!

If you think mentioning the same thing over and over is contributing to the forum, then good for you. I’m done with the self victimising game you so very much enjoy playing.

Pointing out that you are waiting for replies back by certain members after you’ve made the “analysis” as you call it, says to me you know exactly what you’re doing.

I feel like ABC Comedy should go back to a broader channel, embracing drama, comedy, factual etc.

ABC skews very old. Then we have ABC Kids and ABC Me for kids and teens, but I feel what is missing is a channel for young adults.

The best content reruns from ABC that appeal to a younger audience, things like Killing Eve. Some BBC Three content. Perhaps “The Heights” as a nightly soap.

A broader channel than just comedy.
