Seven’s third consecutive overnight ratings win, though the result was closer than earlier in the week. Seven won in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth while Nine won in Melbourne and Brisbane. Seven also won the key demos with 10 ranked second.

Holey Moley continued its dramatic loss of viewers, down 200,000 from Tuesday that dropped 250,000 from episode one. That saw Travel Guides number one in the 7.30 timeslot. The Amazing Race also slipped by 50,000 from the premiere episode.

ABC had a good night with Hard Quiz the top entertainment show of the night beating the reality competition on the commercials. The Weekly got off to a good start winning its timeslot but it was well down from the 2020 premiere that had 606,000. It was followed by the debut of Aftertaste with 479,000.

Sunrise makes the top 20 with its highest audience of the year so far, almost 90k ahead of Today.

Despite the Holey Moley dropoff, seven still won the night. Meanwhile, travel guides did Well in its 7:30 time slot.

Seven should be worried about the massive drops for Holey Moley.

Good news. Hopefully it’s a flop by next week.

Not looking good for Holey Moley. Dropping by 200,000 each night isn’t good. A worry for Seven. How many episodes is the series?

Holey Moley looking like another idiotic decision to strip a show across multiple nights when once a week would do nicely.

I never understand the celebration when local productions fail. Might not be your cup of tea, sure…dont watch and then the nature of ratings will take their course. But to hope something that employs lots of people is a flop doesn’t sit right with me.

No surprise in the drop considering the nature of the show and TV habits in 2021. Its the type of show I would watch when wanting something mindless (like Floor is Lava) on Netflix. Not appointment 7:30 viewing.

ABC had a strong night.

There will be some other production to replace it eventually and those people will get jobs. These people got paid as it was prerecorded.

The continual dishing up of mediocrity needs to be called out. Cant have quality without high expectations. This show is a piece of shit and it needs to fail.

Because it’s Seven :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Seriously though, as much as the productions is still about 10x better than some of the claptrap they’ve come up with in recent years, they’ve seriously let down this show by:

  1. Stripping this show 3 times a week (which isn’t exactly a problem but the second point makes this a problem)

  2. 90 Minutes is excruciating for any show, let alone a show which relies on repetition and ads padding everything out and it is a massive ask for people to commit to 90 minutes for one night, let alone 3 nights of it because it’s just too much. Twice a week at 60 minutes would work out perfectly well and it might even help Seven stretch the show out to about 15 episodes instead of 8 episodes.

The execution is not bad but the editing and scheduling is seriously a let down. It’s not just their problem, every network is guilty of that.

Not sure if shows like Married at First Sight, Big Brother, The Block, The Bachelor etc can be considered quality shows with high expectations though .

Travel Guides has done well as filler pre-Australian Open. Smart move to get the unaired season on air shortly.

They’re all crap as well.

That we can all (well almost all) agree with

I wonder if 10 have made the right call putting The Cube up against Hard Quiz.

I’d like to be optimistic and think the two shows will cater for different audiences. Hard Quiz for quiz show fans and The Cube for those who likes game shows instead.

Though with the ratings for The Amazing Race being average hopefully that’s not a sign for The Cube.

I think Holey Moely could be in for further drops next week. Seven’s line-up has been boosted by some some very big numbers in WA distorted by the Perth lock down. Also look for Home and Away, The Chase and Seven News to lose also viewers.

Holey Moley is the new Wipeout. Any initial interest has quickly waned.
It has a very weak lead in so good that it can increase from there.

Did the new seasons of The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad start on 7mate last night? They are nowhere to be seen in the Top 20 or Top 5 demo’s…

I think Holey Moley has done what most predicted it would do. A lot of interest regarding people sampling it from the start… but now it’s only the kids sticking around to watch it.

Seven will be okay using it up against the Aus Open, but this won’t have a chance against MAFS. I can also see the Amazing Race overtaking it. Holey Moley will be a 1 hit wonder for Seven.

Positive for Seven though, they haven’t lost anything with this show. Advertisers would be happy and Seven would be making a return.
