A surge in viewers for The Block gives Nine another easy win while Making It continues to flounder, so no improvement for 10. Nine won all markets except Perth that was easily won by Seven.

Nine was up 1 from last week. SAS had more viewers week-on-week but another movie premiere on Seven failed to make the top 20 seeing Seven’ share down slightly. While 10’s share was static, without Rosehaven in the line-up ABC was down 2 as Hard Quiz dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since being in repeat mode.

Making It was down 35k week-on-week to rank 24th while Seven’s premiere movie was 25th. The premiere of Frayed was 28th.

Later Paramedics had a season high 593,000 to be one of the week’s best post reality franchises with Kings Cross ER that followed also made the top 20. Question Everything at 8.30 was static.

On Foxtel, Gogglebox down slightly to a season low. 10 Bold’s share of 3.2% compared to 3.5% last Wednesday.

Nine really dominated the night with The Block and Paramedics.

Making it is officially a flop. It shouldn’t be renewed. It’s a shame as they tried a new format that had not been done here. Points for that but they’ll need quite a few new shows at upfronts. Making It isn’t cutting it and the week on week lift in total tv isn’t that good.

7Mate’s Aussie comedy night obviously did not resonate with viewers. All those old US sitcom repeats are still ‘infecting’ a lot of multichannels rating spots.

Regardless of how horrible the local comedies are, they are still first run episodes.

Pattern in Brisbane of late seems to be despite The Chase being behind Hot Seat at 5.30, 7News takes the lead at 6pm, then falls behind at 6.30pm before ACA beats H&A.

RIP Making It Australia. It’s an ok show but not broad enough interest nor engaging enough to sustain 90min twice a week.
