7Mate’s Paralympic coverage scored almost 10% share last night helping Seven to a clear network victory. Nine was unaffected but 10 lost ground with just one hour of The Bachelor and ABC was down as well.

Seven won all markets with 7Mate most popular in Melbourne. However, Nine managed a win in 25-54 age demo while Seven won 16-39.

Top entertainment program was The Block with 668,000 down slightly from last week. Seven’s Nurses and RFDS both also lost audience – Nurses was down 80k week-on-week while RFDS slipped 50k to a season low.

10’s The Bachelor also down by 25,000 continued the pattern. For ABC, Hard Quiz was down 110k and Question Everything slipped 120k from debut while Rosehaven was again out of the top 20.

The Paralympics Night session just made the top 20. In did well in the key demos where it was 14th in 25-54 and 8th in 16-39. The prime time coverage was coded into three separate programs.

Not a good sign for RFDS. Hopefully it can pick up.

Seven News Sydney doing very well.

ACA and ABC News very close in Sydney and Melbourne.

I reckon Paralympics coverage on 7mate might have taken some viewers away from both Nurses and RFDS. Hopefully both shows will pick up viewers in catch-up and timeshifted viewing.

7 News Sydney enjoying the Olympics hangover? Nine won’t be happy this morning.

Just like their radio, their Sydney news dominance is waning…

Today and Sunrise very competitive yesterday. Seems to be a trend of some sorts that Today performs well in August and September but otherwise lag behind Sunrise at other times throughout the year.

RFDS dropping would be disappointing but understandable because it’s so boring and sad.

At this rate in ratings, I think it means bye bye Bachelor.

I think they will try a high profile person next season and if that fails… :axe:

The issue for Nine is while they do well at 3pm & 4pm, Hot Seat doesn’t benefit from that. Ideally, they would want to not just maintain but grow their audience all afternoon until the 6pm news and then into ACA and primetime programming.

It highlights that both Seven and Nine have different things they need to address when it comes to their afternoon schedules

Remembering that Hot Seat is at 3pm in Perth and 4pm in Adelaide.

Good to know MS members sometimes think alike  I was having deja vu, like reading my own comment back! This is what I commented in yesterday’s thread this morning:

If I saw your post, I wouldn’t have made my post - didn’t mean to repeat the same point you made yesterday

Nurses did average numbers for Seven at 7.30, while Nine’s Paramedics did better in the 8.40pm slot. How did Ambulance Australia get on Ten when it aired? Any better than the two?

RFDS, although a timeslot winner (just), should be getting better numbers. Not many Australian Dramas get good numbers these days.

Then again, the Paralympics on 7mate did well, making some numbers across the other channels go down a little.

Not that I watch it and I do think it’s a tired format… but the highest rating seasons are the known people on this show.

Maybe they rest it for 2022 and relaunch 2023.

Knoxy on TVT in his 10 analysis this morning:

“Bull continues to let down the team at [redacted due to MS-OzTam restrictions] / [redacted] -dead last in its slot” :flushed:

No no, I was smiling, it’s good to see more than one member with the same view and to share that, not often it happens tbh
