While it was another win for Nine, ABC was a standout performer with its best Wednesday share of the 2021 survey. That was largely at the expense of 10 that dropped to its lowest Wednesday share for the year.

Nine had a rare win across all metro markets. ABC did particularly well in Melbourne where ABC TV was the number two channel and Sydney where it tied for second.

Married At First Sight had its sixth consecutive episode over one million to be the number one program. Next best entertainment properties belonged to ABC with Hard Quiz and Fisk both in the top 10. Fisk did well to outrate its lead in and beat Amazing Grace on Nine.

The second episode of Border Security managed to outrate 10’s The Cube that was equal with the previous week. Front Bar slipped outside the top 20. It did best in Melbourne ranking 13th.

News numbers were well down on earlier in the week with a close result across the 6pm hour.

10’s average for the week is surely going to be below 10% and imagine next week…

It has become a regular occurrence for Ten’s main channel to rate single digits. How long can this keep happening before ViacomCBS decides its time to bring in people with some fresh ideas to rejuvenate the network? The current mob have had long enough.

37 BULL RPT

Front Bar was 13th in Melbourne, 19th in Adelaide and just 26th in Perth.

Sunrise had a narrow win over today at breakfast, just 15,000 ahead. Today was 40,000 ahead of News Breakfast. Today had a rare win in all east coast markets. It was fairly narrow in Melbourne but in Sydney, the show blitzed the competition, now having won every day this week.

Shocker of a night for 10 and Shake’s new lineup still hasn’t found an audience and their audience share looks to be down each day week on week.

What was Shake’s new lineup again? Was it the Office/Middle duo?

That’s right, 3 x episodes of The Middle from 6pm and then 2 x episodes of The Office from 7:30pm Mon - Thur nights.

MasterChef will boost the shares back up to 15-18% and all will be forgotten.

Sydneysiders missing their morning dose of Sam Armytage, or are they not a fan of Nat in the chair?

I’m so glad that FISK is rating well - it is such a great, funny little comedy. Awesome job on that one from ABC and the team behind it.

Very well job Today show. At this rate Nat in the chair may take Sunrise to second place if nothing improves for them. Will be interested to see what happened if Sunrise start to lose.

Do you have numbers for Today Extra/ The Morning Show?

Agree with Sam’s opinion on not (like many dont on here), she was popular with audiences and resonated. Guess time will tell but Nat is a safe option in terms of opinion and controversy. Numbers are showing along the East Coast.

News numbers have been pretty high lately due to what’s been happening on the East Coast and particularly in the states which lean towards Nine for news so naturally there would be an increase. Let’s see what happens when the floods and other stuff stops then we’ll get the full picture. Don’t jump to conclusions so quickly.

Just for the record I think both shows are doing pretty well with their coverage but I’ve leaned back towards Sunrise since Nat started hosting. She’s absolutely brilliant.

As I mentioned in the Today area, I put this down to Today performing better in Sydney with the rain event coverage. Sydney one of Nine News’s best markets and if there are extra people tuning in for the flood coverage they are turning to Nine ahead of Seven at breakfast as well at afternoon news and 6pm.

It’s not just Sydney, it’s in the East Coast markets they won. It could be just a rare win. We’ll wait and see.

While down on the highs of 2-3 years ago, there’s clearly no sign of Married At First Sight going away anytime soon with that show having averaged over 1 million metro viewers (and around 300k in Sydney) this week…

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this were true, given that we’re talking about the same metropolis which wakes up to 2GB and The Daily Telegraph. But flood coverage is probably a bigger factor at the moment.

But Today usually wins in Brisbane and it isn’t unusual for Sunrise to be beaten by Today and News B in Melbourne.
