Nine continued its dominance of this week’s ratings with another +30% network share. That was more than 10 points clear of second-placed Seven and 10 that wasn’t far behind Seven.

In a familiar pattern, Seven won Perth with Nine leading the other markets. Nine won the key demographics groups with 10 a clear second.

10’s new format The Cube did fairly well on debut managing 567,000. Married At First Sight was still the dominant show post 7.30 pm but it took a hit last night, down 100k from Tuesday and down 120,000 from the third episode of last season. It was the lowest audience for the show since the second week of 2018.

ABC’s Hard Quiz and The Weekly were also well down week-on-week with Aftertaste managing to stay on the top 20.

Seven’s Ambulance Code Red slipped to a season low, well outside the top 20 down almost 100k from last Wednesday while Home and away continued to perform poorly in the 7pm timeslot.

Nine’s new US drama The Equalizer debuted to 352,000.

Not a bad start for The Cube. Viewer reactions on Twitter had been mixed, some praised the show’s format while others didn’t like the frequent use of slo-mo plays and too many ad breaks.

I reckon the big drop for MAFS was due to viewers sampling 10’s new game show last night. It will be interesting to see how many will stick around next week.

Good debut, just a pity they didn’t air it alongside Gogglebox to have a strong Thursday and likely to hold its audience with no MAFS or Hard Quiz

Married at first sight dropped off from the previous episode, however Nine still won over seven by a big margin.
The cube did Ok on its debut, though this show ranked 2nd in demographics.

I think 10 would be happy with these numbers. Anything over 500k in prime time seems o be the new bench mark.

Also, I’ve noticed Nine News Adelaide has increased its numbers again. The 5pm local news is clearly working well in that market. 10 News First Adelaide has returned to its dyer numbers again

Today has lost its lead in Brisbane (as closed border discussions recede) but is picking up slightly in Perth.

As mentioned in the Today Extra topic, that show won its timeslot.

Interesting comparison with The Project Encore currently appearing sometime around 10:40 on most nights.

7mate’s first run animations didn’t even make the Top 5 multi-channel key demos (Simpsons 8:30, Family Guy 9pm, American Dad 9:30pm), but rather an earlier Simpsons repeat and later American Dad repeat did. Strange. Married and/or The Cube competition (though not necessarily exact same demographics)?

Nine overusing the word “dominant” again LOL

Wow

The Cube actually did better than I expected and better than The Amazing Race the previous couple of nights.

Maybe they need to move it to a different night now. Maybe Monday or Tuesday.

And I reckon going up against the formidable combo of Hard Quiz and Weekly (similar demographics I’d imagine) probably doesn’t help

The ABC has Wednesdays set up as their comedy night. 7mate need to pick another night for comedies.

Seven News Sydney only just managed a win against Nine News Sydney.

Even I’m surprised…

It’s sometimes pretty fickle in certain markets.
You had Seven News Brisbane win the first half-hour, but then both Nine and Seven tied for the last 30 minutes. It becomes hard to tell the trend when some Queenslanders decide to switch channels frequently  - the same goes for some Sydneysiders and SA.

For the record - Seven News Sydney & Brisbane did not win the hour on Tuesday.

The Cube had a nice start, scraping into the top 10. Usual good results for ABC’s Hard Quiz and The Weekly. Afterlife could have done a little better though. Ouch for Seven’s Ambulance Code Red.

Thanks TV Cynic for the rankings for the “late news” and “late shows” - in the 25-54’s and total people brackets. No wonder why The Project Encore (they’re called repeats networks!!! lol) airs at 10.40pm on most nights. That mighty late shares, since they do count until midnight.

This should never have been on the main channel. Why would 7 think a factual from another country would be popular?
Also… with MAFS numbers under the million, this year would be 7’s chance to strike with something new and exciting, but they’ve blown it!

Of those, American Dad rated the highest in 16-39. The new Simpsons episodes was outrated by a repeat on 7Flix in that demo. The Simpsons and Family Guy rated about the same with younger audiences but were below shows on 10 Bold, 10 Peach and 9Go!.

And the first runs (certainly Simpsons) are exclusive to Seven broadcast (not allowed on 7Plus, Stan, Disney+, iTunes yet etc) maybe only Fox 8? So suggets what viewers think of these new seasons perhaps

2018 did really well on 7mate when Seven got rights from 10, even still in 2019 and less so last year.

I guess it still pulls the demographics for 7mate/Seven, these sitcom animations usually are some of the highest rating shows in 16-39s multi-channels, even some main channels.

That’s really interesting. And I always suspected when people said 10 had a bare cupboard running a project repeat at 10.30. I always thought it was very strategic. And now those demo numbers show why.

Many young adults not at home in front of the TV at 6.30 but are in front of the TV at 10.30
