Problem night for 10 with Making It bombing out, missing the top 20 and down almost 150k on the debut episode to rank 21st.

Also an ordinary number for the last ever episode of Rosehaven on 422,000 down even from the previous week by +40,000. RFDS also ordinary at least in the overnights for a season final on 417,000.

Nine won the 5-city audience thanks to wins along the east coast markets with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth.

Little change week-on-week for Nine, Seven and SBS while 10 went down 1.6 and ABC up slightly.

The Block has its best Wednesday in three weeks while SAS Australia slipped 50k from last week but was up on Tuesday’s season low.

In Melbourne the E.J. Whitten Legends Game ranked 15th for Nine to win the timeslot.

In Perth the WA Grand Final Special ranked 17th for Seven and was beaten by Paramedics on Nine.

Surprisingly news in Melbourne was down on Tuesday at 6pm for Seven and Nine while ABC News at 7pm posted its highest audience since July 2020. Lots watching ABC News during the afternoon in Melbourne as well. Melbourne also turned to News Breakfast helping the show to rank second yesterday.

10 should’ve started Making It on 1 ep a week and tried to grow it from there, I also still think it would’ve worked earlier in the week but 10 probably thought it would fare better later in the week away from other realities on some nights. It should get a boost tonight for people tuning in for Googlebox.

As last Wednesday’s Total TV figures proved, people preferred to catch up on Rosehaven and RFDS in their own time. We should see a significant boost for both shows next week.

Making It is in all sorts of ratings trouble.

Maybe it would’ve benefitted from being a Friday 7:30 show for 8 weeks

In contrast to the recent trends on Wednesdays, it appears Today fell behind News Breakfast yesterday with Sunrise way ahead.

That said, after Sunrise’s headlines about Melbourne this morning Today should be back on top in no time :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

There was no E.J. Whitten Legends Game. It was a highlights package of previous years games.

Huge News numbers in Melbourne, probably a record for any ABC news bulletin at 7pm also.

Earthquake seemed to boost numbers in the morning also.

Looks like Making It is a disaster. It’s much too niche for mainstream audiences. It’s not doing well in the demos and the week on week growth in total tv isn’t that good either.

It good reviews from the goggleboxers. And maybe once a week on a Thursday is a better time slot. Let’s see how it goes tonight. Lucky 10 didn’t make many episodes.

Who would’ve thought the younger demos wouldn’t want to watch a show about crafts? :man_facepalming:

Goodbye Making It. Its a shame its not that bad.

Making It probably would’ve been immediately pulled from the schedule had it aired on Seven or Nine and received the number it did last night.

If the ratings don’t improve soon, then Ten will have no choice but to remove or at the very least, bump it to a lower profile timeslot.

It’s a worry for 10 and the current staff working there. When a new primetime show like this flops and the remaining schedule failing, cuts will be expected in 2022.

There’s that but also they need to restrategise how they program, what they commission, how they structure the schedule. It’s very apparent they’ve only been programming 1 hour of prime time a day. They need to completely overhaul what they’re doing in the content driven space. Perhaps 2022 upfronts will shed some light on what they’re intending on doing.

Three hours of Bull repeats is obviously profitable for 10 to run despite the meagre ratings.
