Data © OzTAM Pty Limited 2021. The Data may not be reproduced, published or communicated (electronically or in hard copy) in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of OzTAM. “Overnight” figures include “Live” (programs broadcast during the 2am-2am broadcast day) and “As Live” (programs recorded and then watched within the same broadcast day). “Consolidated” figures include Live, As Live and “Time Shift” (programs recorded and then watched within seven days of the initial broadcast).

Nine won its fourth consecutive night of the week. However, the network was down over five points to its lowest Wednesday of the survey. Most of that share went to 10 that recorded it best Wednesday of the 2021 survey. ABC was steady and Seven and SBS were up slightly .

Nine won 25-54 and 18-49. 10 won 16-39.

LEO Masters continued to be a winner at 7.30. It and MasterChef dropped slightly from Tuesday numbers to season lows despite less competition from Seven in the timeslot.

For ABC Hard Quiz was down slightly while Fisk finished its run steady and an easy 9pm timeslot winner.

For Seven, News was back at number one with a narrow win while Highway Patrol repeats again landed fourth at 7.30.

Seems that Lego Masters will settle at above the 700,000 mark. While the ratings are well down on last two seasons, they should be enough to help Nine to win more nights over the next three weeks or so.

The same can’t be said for MasterChef, now down to 2019 levels. With Big Brother set to start next week, to be followed by Celebrity Apprentice and Ninja Warrior later, it could be a long season ahead for MC.

Why does hot seat rate so bad in WA?

because it airs at an earlier timeslot (3pm from memory?)

It has apparently rated 0 on a couple of occasions and certainly in the demos also.

I wouldn’t be so surprised to see Big Brother come back with figures lower than last season tbh. The law of diminishing returns and the curiosity factor will have worn off on BB as well.

The figures definitely aren’t great for MC but lets look at the commercial landscape - you’ve got Lego Masters, only in its 3rd season of which each season only produces a dozen or less episodes and it’s holding fine but not setting the ratings world on fire and you’ve got MC in Season 13 which produces 60+ episodes a season and holding steady.

Although, the raw numbers themselves (and Shawshank - published on TVT), were reasonably good for filling time and all old repeats. What else would’ve done better in terms of filler shows?
Even Shawshank outrated an episode of Bull, 5pm Hot Seat, 10 News 6pm, and multiple other prime time shows and came very close to Bull (episode 1), Amazing Grace and a handful of shows.

This maybe says some viewers are dissatisfied with Lego and MC, happy to stay even with very old shows as alternatives? Just a few thoughts. Although I’m sure the demographics were bad.

Speaking of Amazing Grace, it dropped out of top 20 last night, with the season finale losing 100,000 viewers from last Wednesday.

Is it really? The Amazing Race was only pulling 450k or so a lot of episodes and people seemed to think it was doing OK. I know Masterchef is down a fair bit on last year but it’s better than most of Ten’s other shows are pulling (and even Seven’s 7.30pm shows this year).

Exactly this. I still think you can’t rule out Masterchef yet. Last season proved that there are enough people out there still interested in it. So it may gain momentum and some may switch over when Big Brother starts or Lego Master ends.

Shocked at Amazing Grace yet again eroding its already meagre audience. Though it was such a niche concept drama that held little broad appeal so not that unexpected.

I really did expect to see Materchef get an upward tick without Dancing airing and 7 giving up but no. I enjoyed it, mainly to see Millsy again, but it’s starting to feel very samey and predictable.

It’s all been done before with Love Child and Offspring. Nothing new to see here. I’d be shocked if it gets a second season.

Nine need to look for something new in drama. No more remakes. reboots or copycats.

With the way Masterchef is rating at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised if they start coding their eliminations and winner of challenges segments separately.

Lego is doing well but its drop is still quite extraordinary.

While Nine News Melbourne won a close race for the first half hour, the increased numbers from Seven Melbourne in the last 30 minutes make up for it.
Also fairly close in Adelaide with Nine News managing to sneak a win in the last half hour.

I believe because Amazing Grace was in the incorrect slot. After a kids show isn’t ideal for a drama for that. They could have finished it after MAFS

Perhaps a family-friendly show is a proper term.

But even with an ‘adult’ show like Married at First Sight as lead in Amazing Grace was shedding viewers week on week anyway. It’s more to do with the show instead of the lead-in.

Big timeshifting increase for the season finale of Fisk.

Only 300,000 viewers for the season finale of Amazing Grace. Nine will be disappointed with the drama’s ratings overall.

Seven’s network share dropped by 1.4% after 7-day timeshifting. That will affect its chances of winning the week in consolidated.
