Dear lord

A big Wednesday win for Nine, 7 points clear of Seven. That was helped by having the only reality show at 7.30 with Beauty and the Geek reaching a season high 532,000 followed by the ever-popular Travel Guides even in repeat mode. It was Nine’s best Wednesday outside of State of Origin since before Easter.

Second-placed Seven saw a Highway Patrol repeat landed fourth at 7.30 following a fairly low number for Home and Away at 7pm. Not one of Seven’s best nights.

Meanwhile 10 launched Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod to moderate numbers, landing third at 7.30. The debut of US comedy Ghosts landed ahead of Aftertaste’s new season and Britain’s Got Talent.

The season debut of Shaun’s other show in its final season, Mad At Hell, also had moderate numbers with 487,000 tuning in. That followed Gruen with 519,000 and compared to the previous season debut that had 528,000 in early February.

Meanwhile Today had another win over Sunrise (by 2,000) with both shows below 200k.

I predicted a moderate debut for Brain Eisteddfod and was right on money.

Beauty and the Geek took advantage of weak opposition on Seven and increased its audience.

10 Bold’s live telecast of soccer friendly between Brisbane Roar and Aston Villa (Villa won 1-0) failed to make the multichannel top 20.

Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod was 6th in 25-54. 7th in 16-39.

Beauty and The Geek up 123k due to weaker competition. Seems people will only watch this show if there is nothing better on.

It was also a geek makeover episode I think.

It will be a flop in total next week. It doesn’t look like anybody watched Ghosts either. Strange programming decision to have an American show in prime time after it has been on Paramount+.

Wow, that was fast.

No idea why it rates the way it does when it’s the same old. Clearly it’s vulnerable when it has competition against it (Hunted).

Kylie hosting may have had an impact for Sunrise?

It’s inoffensive vacuous trash which is easy to have on in the background. The alternative offerings from the other networks were very weak last night.

It was only 1 geek. And 4 episodes in this would’ve been usually second week at least.

Nine strategically adjusted the format last year to spread out the makeovers starting with one every few episodes because as we know they are the most popular. It really messes with the format though as now there is one madeover geek who doesn’t at least look like a geek anymore and is potentially at an advantage.

Nine won the east coast with over 30% shares plus Adelaide. Seven won Perth. Nine won the demos with a competitive 10 second - just 2 points behind in 16-39.

Soon Today will be able to beat Sunrise using Brisbane alone. Brisbane to Nine is like Perth to Seven.

I agree, it didn’t really grab me. It lacks a bit of atmosphere. Maybe they should add some canned laughter and applause.

It is strange, but it’s a great show. Maybe this is 10 trying to gain more subscribers for P+? It’s better then a Bull rpt.

Why not screen Aussie show Spreadsheet then?
