Wednesday was Nine’s but with a narrower margin than the previous week. Seven got a bit of a boost in share.

The biggest difference to last week was a big drop in The Block’s audience down more than 100k. Pride & Prejudice didn’t do much better than Seven’s previous attempts in that timeslot. It was much lower than Season 2 that started with 633,000 and 2017 with 874,000. Demos for the show were ordinary as well.

Bad start for the new season of Bride & Prejudice, even lower than some of the episodes of The Celebrity Chase.
The Block had a big drop from last Wednesday but Nine still won the night.

Not surprising to see Bride and Prejudice failing. There’s an overload of relationship reality shows and the audience is turning its back on them.

What has happened to 7. This show did well for them last year.

Outside of news and AFL, Seven is now irrelevant. Their relationship shows - is this the fourth this year?! - are too similar.

7 happened to 7. They relied on the success of their hit shows too much, and if something didn’t rate they pulled it without trying to see if another format could work because they had a few back up shows in the cupboard (LOL, border security etc) but now these don’t rate either.
Nine had a flop with FFF but they tried to revamp it at least to give it a shot. Seven had shows rating 600k and they just pulled it or gave it a single season without trying to grow it, and each year their replacement shows get lower and lower.
Look at 10 with Survivor and Nine with MAFS (yes they weren’t super low in the ratings), they tweaked them and grew the audience.

It’s one bad decision after another.

They had shows like Instant Hotel and Just Desserts which they could have tweaked and grown but they stuffed both of those up. They dropped Just Desserts after one season and they ran Instant Hotel late night after a bloated MKR.

And Seven has it scheduled for 3x a week next week. They are in for a whole world of hurt.

Although, Bride and Prejudice might work better on a Monday & Tuesday. Wasn’t it run on those nights previously? Launching it midweek was a bit stupid, I think.

I don’t think 10 have too much to worry about next week launching Bachelorette against Bride & Prejudice, though I reckon if they launched Bachelorette straight after Bachelor then B&P would have likely rated lower last night with the additional competition from 10.

Sydney numbers for 10 News First looking very low last night and on par with Perth figures, with the metro audience barely above 300k.

With Sienfield topping all demos for the second episode on Peach, no doubt 10 will be hoping the announcement of Friends moving into the 7pm time slot leading out of Neighbours that it will be a winning combo for them.

I think this year is pretty much a write-off for Seven.

It was the lowest ever rating for an episode of Bide and Prejudice - the previous low was 525,000 on a Wednesday in the first week of last season. I suppose there is some potential for an increase, but I doubt it would be significant considering the increased competition on other nights. Just thinking of all the money thrown at advertising this show on radio over the last few weeks - still continuing today in breakfast in Brisbane, no wonder Seven have financial troubles - every show they launch seems to need a radio blitz.

Britain’s Got Talent ranked 22nd with a season low audience - surely this was a better option against the NRl GF than wasting Dirty Dancing. 10’s movie Red 2 ranked 32nd on the same level as 10Bold’s programming.

What time was episode 3 of Bondi Rescue aired on 10Bold? I thought there were only two. One at 6:30 and one at 7?

Repeat number 1 was on 10 at 8pm - repeat 2 and 3 were on 10Bold.

Thanks.

It’s a OZTAM code thing - everything must have a unique name even when on different channels it seems.

Lack of promotion because of smaller audiences for the previous shows at 7.30. It’s a vicious cycle. When you’re on a roll, you’re on a roll, and when you’re not… just ask channel 10

Hopefully it’s the kick up the pants they need.
After 12 years as No1 they’re about to be de- throned. It’ll take a bit of work to turn that around quickly though they have their best chance with the Tokyo Games in 2020.

It’s what happens when a network desperately needs one of their shows to be a ratings hit yet they all perform as badly as GWS did in last week’s AFL GF
