Nine won Wednesday for the sixth time this survey with a share above 30%. ABC was up over 2 points from last week, Seven and Nine fell over 1 points each with 10 was down slightly. The return of The Front Bar did not help Seven’s fortunes with Nine again winning the east coast plus Adelaide, leaving Seven to win again in Perth. 10 again beat Seven in the key demos that were won by Nine.

News was again a top performer with Seven’s 6pm bulletin topping the night. Nine’s News Special outrated The Latest in all markets. It also beat The Front Bar in AFL markets were it was head-to-head.

Married At First Sight improved slightly from last week while Australian Survivor posted its best Wednesday result and second highest overall result of this season. It again was very close to Married AFS in the 16-39 demo. Hard Quiz and Mad As Hell both posted season highs for ABC. Highway Patrol on Seven just made the top 20.

The Front Bar did best in Melbourne where it ranked 11th. It was 16th in Adelaide and 18th in Perth.

The Front Bar’s preliminary figures were up by 20,000 on last year’s season premiere.

Mad as Hell posted its biggest audience since November 28, 2018, the third last episode of season 8. Bluey dropped out of the top 20 after its record-breaking season launch on Tuesday morning, but the morning audience was still huge (No.1 multichannel show).

Survivor is getting closer and closer to MAFS in the younger demos. It could get 750,000-800,000 in the final two weeks of the season.

Huge figures for Bluey. With more and more schools closing, the ratings for ABC Kids programming is likely to rise over the coming weeks.

Great figures for survivor although it had a shocking twist at the end of the episode. Survivor really needs to stop with these dumb twists.

Strange ratings for Neighbours this week.

2 codings for Monday & Wednesday, one coding for Tuesday… brings down the week as a whole unfortunately.

Are you sure? I assumed Neighbours: End Game just failed to make the Top 20 on Tuesday.

Don’t agree that it was a shocking twist. I am not as seasoned a viewer of Survivor (Australian or American) as some on here and it didn’t bother me too much. However I watched with someone who could only be described as a casual Survivor viewer and they thought the twist was great! I would suggest the “twists” bring in the casual viewers.

A twist that doesn’t make sense?

@TV.Cynic told us it was coded as one show on Tuesday. Someone at Ten might have stuffed up. Maybe they will correct it withOzTam. Sometimes they do that.

Channel 10 are returning to their former glory days of 2006/7 when they still had Big Brother, House and the AFL.

Yeah, returning to the glory days of still being the 4th network? All might change considering most of their shows are in doubt to be filmed this year.

They may have to drag out those unscreened episodes of Changing Rooms and Celebrity Name game when there are no new programs to screen.

Yes like when Home and Away due Triple episodes, we get 1 figure, but on consolidated they sometimes split them into 3 episodes.

@TV.Cynic, was just thinking but a bit off topic, but does the 5 City metro also include the close proximity big cities like for example:
is the Sydney ratings together with Wollongong, Gosford, Central Coast, Newcastle or even Canberra?

Is Brisbane together with Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast?

And Is Melbourne together with Geelong?

That would be helpful, cheers thanks…

It includes the official licence area for the metro TV stations - so Brisbane includes Gold Coast, Sydney includes Central Coast and Melbourne includes Geelong - all areas that the stations can easily be received with standard antenna. Woolongong and Newcastle are not part of the Sydney licence area and Sydney TV can not usually be received.

The total populations covered are posted here

I see, thanks. One final thing why aren’t the other Capital Cities included in the TV Ratings like Canberra, Hobart and Darwin.??
They are Big & Important Cities and shouldn’t they be included too, or are they already included somewhere.?? They really should.

Thanks…

The 5 cities have commercial stations owned by Seven, Nine and 10 and are designated metro TV licences by the regulator. They own OzTAM that produces the 5-city ratings for them. OzTAM allows Media Spy to post some of their copyright ratings data on a daily basis.

Other markets are owned by other companies (WIN TV, SCA, Prime etc). They have set up RegionalTAM that delivers ratings for some of their broadcast areas. We cannot publish their copyright ratings data.

@TV.Cynic
But isn’t WIN TV, Southern Cross Austereo & Prime owned by Nine, Ten & Seven respectively anyway.? So should it be included then.?

And where can I also find the Daily TV Ratings for those Cities/Regions, which website.!??

Thanks again for the update.!
