Nine won its first overnight ratings since the third State of Origin in July. Nine won the three east coast markets with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth. Nine was even with last week as Seven dropped 3 points. 10 and ABC each picked up 2 points. Nine also won 25-54 while 10 won 16-39 for the second night in a row.

Home and Away was the top entertainment offering while Hard Quiz returned and was narrowly ahead of The Block. The Block was the best 7.30 show, up 50k on last week while The Bachelor was up 60k to its highest result since launch week.

Nurses debuted for Seven with 500k while for ABC, Question Everything was a time slot winner on debut.

Rosehaven picked up a few extra viewers to just make the top 20. RFDS lost 90k from debut.

As much as I am all for variety in the 7.30 slot it appears that Nurses probably could’ve done better in an 8.30 slot following something like The Voice. To have RFDS outrate it is pretty telling. Can’t imagine how bad the demos must be.

The Block and The Bachelor regains ground without much competition.

Even Stevens between Seven News and Nine News in Queensland.

These double (or extra long) Bachelor episodes seem to be the right move. Yes the show is rating lower than previous years but the extra length episodes are doing equal too or even slightly better than previous weeks. So it at least means that Ten sustains an audience close to 500k till around 9.45pm.

Without The Voice on 7, The Block helped channel 9 win the night. It was Channel 9’s first overnight ratings win since 14 July 2021 (with the state of origin).
Nine News won in Sydney, Seven won in Melbourne, adelaide and Perth and it was a tie in Brisbane between seven and nine News during its 6pm and 6:30 time slot.

Any Australian drama that can get over 500k on a live broadcast is a winner. Good to see RFDS and The Newsreader both achieve this mark.

LOL it’s only 10K. Nine’s addiction of using the term dominant is like how crack addicts are addicted to crack :joy:

Guess they couldn’t ‘dominate’ the 16-39 demos so they’ve had to resort to Grocery Shoppers and Children to argue their case

It’s hilarious. I look forward to @TV.Cynic posting this everyday. It’s like wordsearch. Quick find out where Nine used “Dominant/Dominate” and their variations.
It’s so desperate when they use it and the win is minimal. They must have a contract with the word, so must apply it to their release everyday.

On a side note, Ten has now taken top spot in 16-39 demo every night this week.

News Breakfast seems to be strong in Melbourne and Brisbane. I believe it won Melbourne last week?

It is close between Today and News B in Melbourne. Sunrise is a distant third most days. New B won yesterday but Today was well ahead on Tuesday.

It did well.

I really do feel like Sunrise would benefit with a local Melbourne edition.
But it all come down to costs.

Will be interesting to see how tonight goes (probably a battle between Nine’s NRL and 10’s Bachelor) and if Seven’s AFL on Friday and Saturday is enough to claw back the key demos for the week. If they lose the week in the demographics , considering The Voice, that’d be a disappointing result and a great result for Nine or 10!

Yes but the voice (considering its substantial lead in total people) isn’t a total demo power house. It’s doing very well in some but the gap isn’t as big (getting beaten in 16-39).
Compare it to what 7 has been getting in the demos with its other shows all year and it’s easily 7’s show of the year.

More competitive now with Sam gone in the markets. Sunrise needs some interesting hosts.

Are you ignoring the fact that Today was already more competitive when Sam was still around?

I’m finding it to be a really good show these days. Much more watchable than the other two.

It really is a breath of fresh air, even though the show and Michael have been around for years now, but certainly if you’re a Sunrise or even Today watcher, it is a very different and pleasant experience at breakfast.
