With not a lot on offer on commercial TV, ABC picked up a couple of share points for its best Wednesday in five weeks. Multichannels also did some heavy lifting with 10 Bold over 5%. Without MasterChef, 10’s share was down only 2 points while Seven and Nine were roughly on par with the previous Wednesday.

Seven’s new line-up scored a win in all markets. At 7.30 it was a win to ABC’s 7.30 ahead of the debut of America’s Got Talent and Bondi Rescue. Kath and Kim bombed again on its new night. In the key 25-54 demo, Bondi Reccue was 5tth and 8th, America’s Got Talent 10th with K&K 18th.

Front Bar ranked 7th in Melbourne, 15th in Adelaide and 20th in Perth.

@TV.Cynic any idea what police Duty front line at 9.15 on 7 Sydney got? Better than front bar last week?

Low rating for the post-7.30pm line-up without the reality tentpoles.

Highest result since the ‘US crime drama’ line-up started, back to Bones levels (when it used to rate consistently on Wednesdays), also outranking 9Life, 9Rush and a bunch of ABC and SBS multi-channels.

More ratings numbers including Front Bar and Hour of Duty,

Ratings: Seven wins low rating Wednesday

Good demo win for Bondi Rescue.

It annoys me that every network clashes their big shows earlier in the week and then there is nothing on Wed and Thurs. Wednesday has often been one of the highest rating nights of the week for MasterChef so not the best move and I think it could lose momentum as viewers are used to every season being on for 5 nights.

I agree, but Covid. So its Sun to Tues now or sun to Thurs then nothing for after July.

Seems like American AGT rates better than Britans AGT !

To be fair, Britain’s America’s Got Talent was never going to take off

You know that there wasn’t much on TV last night when Bondi Rescue (which has hardly done well on the main channel in recent years) helps 10 to an 11% share on the main channel and tops the youngest demo group.

7 would be better off keeping Big Brother Mon/Tue/Wed and moving AGT to Sundays.

I really think this would be a good idea. Instead of going blank on Wednesdays like all the other networks really hit them. They would then be able to lock in, with big wins, Wednesday-Saturday. Sunday is already a loss for 7 so why not try to gain momentum on this day.

If AGT aired on Sunday, 7 would get absolutely smashed on the highest rating night of the week. Why would they make any changes to their schedule when they can win the night with AGT at 7.30 on Wednesday?

It would be a weak start to their week if they got smashed on Sundays. They couldn’t promote shows for the rest of the week. And they’re winning the week now anyway with AFL back.

Britain’s Got Talent went up against Bondi Rescue and Kath & Kim and just got over 500k viewers. In the key 25-54 age group it was 10th for the night well behind a new Bondi Rescue as well as the 8pm repeat episode. The audience it got would rank it at about 40th for the week in 25-54. It would get smashed on Sunday in total people but more importantly in the demos.

So there’s not really a way to know if “police: glue or duty” - the UK factual seven replaced “the front bar” with in SYD and BNE did any better or worse.

Across the 5 cities it did 150k, but that includes ADL/MEL/PER too who ran it at 10.45pm

Any way to find out what it did in Sydney and Brisbane at 9.15pm only?

Front Bar did 90k in Sydney and Brisbane last week at 9.15

If police: hour of duty did 150k across 5 markets - I can’t imagine it did any more than 90k in just Sydney and Brisbane ?

Hour of Duty rated slightly better in both markets and ranked higher - the rankings for both programs are listed in the respective ratings articles. Exactly how much better is hard to tell because Front Bar from last week had its overnight ratings lowered (as it nearly always does thanks to overruns) and the per market numbers aren’t available.
