Another close Wednesday result with just 0.6 separating the 3 commercial networks. 10 has a win in network shares while Seven has the top main channel. Seven won in Sydney and Perth, Nine won Melbourne and 10 won Brisbane and Adelaide.

Syd 7 > 10 > 9
Mel 9 > 10 > 7
Bri 10 > 7 = 9
Ade 10 > 9 > 7
Per 7 > 10 > 9

10 dominated the competition in the key demo groups, 10 points clear of second placed Seven in 25-54 and 12 points in 16-39 demos.

I’m A Celebrity was steady with Tuesday’s numbers with Hard Quiz in the top 10 lifting ABC’s share. At this time some years the Australian Open would have been underway but Nine’s cobbled together schedule is surprisingly competitive at least in total people.

We still have a few days before the actual open kicked off, so whatever Nine have now is probably what they would’ve shown still.

Shocking figures for Seven News Sydney.

All 3 commercials networks are doing great. I’m a Celebrity numbers are steady but I was expecting it to be higher due to the low competition in the other networks. Seven seem to be struggling in their news brand, as Adelaide goes to Nine News. Nine is doing a decent job with repeats, they should be happy. While 10Bold & 10Peach are pushing 10 for the win.

It’s (iacgmoh) pretty much on par with last year with similar competition. Admittedly on the Wednesday there was a one off charity tennis game, but the other nights have been roughly the same.

Very close night between 3 channels. Ch10 won the night thanks To I’m a celebrity. Brisbane and Adelaide winning the night.

What’s so shocking about it…? Seems fairly normal.

In other news, Seven Melbourne and Nine News Melb have somehow equalled in the 6:30 period :joy:

Also close in Brisbane with Nine edging out the win for the hour, Seven not far behind.

I really think Seven Adelaide needs to watch their backs. Nine News Adelaide was just trailing and managed to overtake Seven for the last half hour.

I’m thinking maybe the BBL starting at 6.45 is causing some problems for Seven. A lot of the times Seven win the first half but there’s a massive drop-off to the second half when the BBL cuts the bulletin short by 15mins.

Perhaps Seven needs the bulletin to be 30mins in Adelaide and start BBL at 6.30 local time.

Wouldn’t that worsen the problem because that would allow viewers to watch the entire 2nd half hour of Nine News rather than just the last 15 minutes?

Sorry wasn’t thinking properly when I thought of that idea. Either way, it’s still a pretty big problem for Seven Adelaide from having no losses to several losses in a row this Summer. They need to see what’s wrong with their bulletin and what they can do to fix it.

Seven News Adelaide should be shown to 7pm if the Strikers are not playing, with the first 30 minutes of BBL on 7mate. If the Strikers are in action, then trim the bulletin to 30 minutes.

I agree. It must be asked - how much do South Australians care about BBL matches not involving the Strikers?

It happened during the AFL season in the past few years when Seven showed Thursday night matches, shortening the Adelaide bulletin to 30 minutes.

Correct (I only just realised that now hence I deleted the second part of my post that you quoted).

I guess they’re in a pretty tough spot in Adelaide given the usual 7:25pm AEDT/AEST start time for Thursday and Saturday night matches.

They have no choice but to end the news at 6:30pm, as it would be strange to end the news at 6:55pm if they didn’t want to show pre-game and go straight into first bounce at 6:55pm SA time/7:25pm VIC time.
