The CW has announced the upcoming fourth season of Reign will be the show’s last.

NBC has revealed its schedule for the first quarter of 2017, which will feature seven new shows and the returning “Shades of Blue” on a different night. Chicago Justice (Seven has the rights here) will air on Sundays from March 5, following by Shades of Blue which are moving from Thursday nights. The Blacklist: Redemption will run in its parent show’s Thursday spot for eight weeks starting in February 23.

Daniel MacPherson has landed a role in the fifth of Strike Back, being produced for Cinemax and Sky UK. He plays Samuel Wyatt, a barroom philosopher who works best alone. Alin Sumarwata (Neighbours, East West 101) plays Gracie Novin, the heart and soul of the team.

Nominations for the 74th Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning. American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson leads with five nominations, one more than The Night Manager. Surprisingly, Game of Thrones has only two nominations.

WGN America has axed Salem after three seasons. The show, set in a fictional version of the 17th century Massachusetts town infamous for its witch trials, has been shown here on Eleven and SyFy.

CBS announced the 2017 winter/spring schedule on November 30. Of most interest to Aussie fans are the new seasons of Survivor (March 8) and The Amazing Race (double episode premiere on April 21). Training Day, based on the movie of the same name, will debut on February 2.

2017 off to a good start - looks like NBC has ordered a revival of Will and Grace.

The CW has renewed Supernatural, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Jane the Virgin.

ABC has announced its line-up for the northern winter/spring. Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder resume with new episodes on January 26 (great timing for 7flix as it can fasttrack them all the following week, after the Australian Open concludes). New drama Time After Time and comedy Imagining Mary debut on March 25 and 29 respectively. Once Upon a Time does not return until March 5.

Starts Thursday.


God the US makes some terrible promos/
ZERO appeal there.
They have made it look like every. single. catty. reality show. on TV.
which in the US is about 765 series.
Nothing about that looks appealing original or quirky.
They really should have watched Seven’s promos and sold it like that - personality based.
This will bomb - nothing looks big or special at all.

The US doesn’t devote airtime to extended “sneak peaks” so the longer trailer would be online only

They should be thankful for that, I guess.

Fox has renewed Empire for a fourth season, comprising 18 episodes. The third season resumes on March 22.
The network has also announced the revival of Prison Break will premiere on April 4 in the US, taking over the 9pm timeslot from Bones. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Gotham and Lucifer are taking breaks of around three months and will return on April 11, April 24 and May 1 respectively.

FX has renewed American Horror Story for two more seasons. Season 8 will be shown next year, while season 9 will air in 2019.

1988 movie Heathers will be turned into a hour-long drama series for TV Land, with a new set of characters in a new setting new season, similar to American Horror Story. Shannen Doherty, who played Heather Duke in the movie, will also appear in the show, which will debut later this year.
Heathers was also adapted into a musical, which completed its Australian season from July 2015 to June 2016 with a local cast.

The Hurricane Katrina storyline was referring to Ryan Murphy’s other series American Crime Story not American Horror Story.

Quantico star Priyanka Chopra is recovering at home after she was injured at the set last Thursday. Chopra fell while shooting and suffered a concussion, was sent to hospital but released a few hours later. She is taking a few days off while filming will continue without her.

Jessica Biel will take on her first regular TV role since 7th Heaven, in new mystery crime drama called The Sinner for USA Network. Biel is also an executive producer of the show, a planned anthology series based on a novel by German author Petra Hammesfahr. She’ll play a woman who commits a grisly murderer but is at a loss to explain why she did it, which pushes the man investigating the case (Bill Pullman) to uncover her motive.
