US Late Night Shows

This is going to hurt Disney in their hip pocket.

When the cancellation news broke, ABC did not make this issue front and center.

It is definitely understandable and sympathizable, but now it is too late.

This crisis is of their own making with miscalculation after miscalculation.

Now they’re making the worst selection they could ever do: Watch subscriber numbers freefall or make staffers exposed to further potential violence.

No one wins.

The day before, the building of KXTV, an ABC affiliate station owned by Tegna, was the sight of a protest over the network’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at the TV station shortly after 1:30 pm Friday. At least three gunshots were fired into a window of the building, which was occupied at the time, but fortunately no one was injured, Gamble said.

Meanwhile people in the US haven’t worked out there is more than one ABC, with our ABC getting hundreds of complaints.

Is there even a system to flag any email with Kimmel in it and provide a “sorry, we’re not related” auto-reply?

Because that’s messed up.

Jesus Christ, that article is poorly written.

And one of the stations that Nexstar would be acquiring if their moves to buy Tegna are successful.

Nexstar were pushing for Kimmel to be suspended/sacked…

It’s overall being handled pretty badly. It seems ABC Have given the directive that The View are not to talk about it. It’s been two episodes and a lot of comments online flooding their social media and even the official uploads on YouTube. A lot of people calling out against the fact they’ve been censored in talking about it.

Sinclair gave up fighting. They took Celebrity Family Feud last night.

You would assume they’d have had to pay ABC for breaching the rights agreement in not showing network programming?

They never actually dumped any network programmming. (Nexstar have all week, they’ve extended their 11pm newscasts to 90 minutes, a few other station groups have been doing hourlong ones, and all those may have to pay) They stuck, and were always sticking with, Celebrity Family Feud Wednesday and Thursday, and WERE going to opt out and run the tribute Friday.

Not sure if this has been answered or not. But 7Bravo airs The Jimmy Fallon Show at 3.30pm weekdays. If they are new episodes, what did they replace it with? Or was it always older episodes and no need to pull the pin in it yet?

Why would they need to pull Fallon?

Crap. I had the wrong Jimmy.

Nothing to see here. Just an embarrassing moment for me. Sorry bout that. :man_facepalming:

Disney wants Kimmel back on the air. But Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger and entertainment head Dana Walden have also asked him to tone down his political rhetoric. Kimmel won’t apologize, nor does he want to be muzzled or censored. He also doesn’t want to put 200 employees out of work or give Trump a scalp.

And likewise with every dollar.

Disney’s market cap has fallen $5.14 billion since Thursday’s market close.

And that has not accounted for potential lost revenue from mass cancellations.

To be fair, it’s a tiny drop considering past performance over the last 6 months

Maybe they might realize that siding with the Moronic Mandarin wasn’t a good idea? Serves them right.
