TV Week

My local newsagents get most magazines on Wednesday Mornings now since mid-2025.

A rare reprieve from Home and Away.

gosh, what a surprise who’s the main picture

“60+ shows inside”.

But how many pages is thst one particular show… and how small is the info on the other 59 shows? Lol.

He has managed to score the Preview issue almost every year for the past five years. No originality at TV Week. Must keep the boss happy and feature her favourite obsession every year.

I wondered if Rebecca Gibney might get a cover with Millionaire Hot Seat.

In some issues, TV Week talks about some award ceremonies - like the Emmys, Golden Globes and even the Oscars.

But in the latest issue - no mention of the AACTA Awards at all (which is held on the Friday in the guide). I didn’t expect a normal article - but a small mention of the host (if there is on), or even talk about the Film Nominees would have been nice. Even if they don’t want to talk about the TV Nominees - the Logies “rival” - which is okay…

Sold out today in two Woolies and a Coles I visited. I think 10 and TV Week should take note of her popularity

Ten will find out if they can get Hot Seat to rate.

Celia and Dog Park get this week’s cover.

Really funny how I once wrote to TV Week and asked why Celia Pacquola had never been on a cover despite being popular winning Logie Awards and appeared in many shows. I even suggested a photo which they actually used on the cover. She has been on at least three covers since then.

Remember when TV Week used to have a letters section?

They did say a while ago that they practically received no letters any more. They probably only interact with readers through social media now.

I want TV Week to bring back Soap Diary which it used to have but people probably read info and Spoilers Online anyway but I think TV Week need more features because it’s not Cheap $6.50 and people might not keep buying without new improvements?

$6.20 actually.

There’s only one Aussie soap now Home and Away and it gets covered with a full article every week.

The problem with covering the American soaps is that people watch them in different ways now. Some viewers are streaming them on 10 play and others are warching on 10/10 Drama. So which do ypu have in the magazine? And as you say, spoilers are available online so fans can find them that way.

And the British soaps probably have very few viewers on pay TV so maybe not worth the effort.

10 Year anniversary for Sam Mac

Outside of the “preview 2026 issue”, there have been some pretty good covers of TV Week in recent weeks.

Nice to see Sam Mac on the cover - and marking 10 years on Sunrise too.
