TV show ideas

Again assuming they could use the name

I was trying to tell you there is a show already in existence just like that called “Would I Lie To You?” Havd you never heard of it?

Where’s the fat bastards in the Bachelorette? That could be the next edition…gorgeous ladies, fat bastards. :joy:

But is there an Australian version?

No but your concept exists.

I will also point out, that in the interest in equality, that the next edition of the Bachelor can also have chubby chasers too…

Here’s one person who I could imagine signing up for a version of The Bachelor featuring larger women:

@ElCapitanCranky confirmed as the Bachelor for 2021.

I’m not that desperate.

I’m just saying both shows seem to showcase more Barbie and Ken doll type of people rather than someone who is more comfortable eating from a barbie and ragging on Heine-ken beer.

I actually like the idea of this to an extent.

Maybe call it Real Dating and have a mix of different sized men and women.

Format could be similar to that in speed dating or structured similar to The Bachelor.

What are other members thought?

Seven Late News

Airs on Seven on Sundays from 8:30pm-9:00pm, and Mondays to Thursdays from 9:00pm to 9:30pm, so it directly follows the reality programming. Seven Late News would replace The Latest.

The format would be:

  • No news headlines and straight into the opener “This is Seven News with…”

  • Major national news stories of the day in the first block

  • Ad Break

  • International and local stories of the day in the second block

  • Look ahead to sport “Sport is next with…”

  • Ad Break

  • Sports stories in the third block

  • After sport, the presenter says “Next in Seven’s Late News, the national weather forecast with…”

  • Ad Break

  • Light-hearted story followed by weather

The bulletin will be produced from Sydney out of Seven’s Martin Place Studios, and be presented by Mark Ferguson on Sunday’s, and Angela Cox from Monday to Thursday. Angie Asimus would be the fill-in presenter. Sport would be presented by Mel McLaughlin and Weather would be presented by David Brown. To avoid a long day for Brown, he would be replaced on the Morning News by Amber Laidler and Samantha Brett.

Alternatively, if the bulletin comes out of:

Melbourne - it would be presented by Peter Mitchell on Sunday’s and Monday’s and Mike Amor from Tuesday to Thursday. Sport would be presented by Tim Watson and Weather would be presented by Jane Bunn.

Brisbane - it would be presented by Katrina Blowers on a Sunday and Kendall Gilding from Monday to Thursday. Sport would be presented by Shane Webcke from Sunday to Wednesday and Pat Welsh on a Thursday. Weather would be presented by Tony Auden.

Or should I say, Seven Midevening News because of its 8.30pm or 9pm timeslot.

Not really a new TV show, but a possible idea of a reboot for Sunrise down the track:

Keen to hear people’s thoughts.

Sunrise
6:00am-9:00am
Hosts: Sam Armytage, David Koch and Natalie Barr
News Anchor: Angie Asimus
Weather Presenter: Angie Asimus

Sunrise would become very news orientated, with Sam, Kochie and Nat acting as the three hosts, running all the segments and doing interviews with guests.

Every half an hour, Angie Asimus will provide a news update, or “the rest of the day’s news”, and will also provide a weather update in front of one of the screens.

Sunrise Fourth Hour
9:00am-10:00am
Hosts: Edwina Bartholomew and Mark Beretta
Roving Reporter: Sam Mac

Similar to how NBC Today in America have “3rd Hour Today”, Sunrise will implement a “Sunrise Fourth Hour”.

Sunrise Fourth Hour would have a mix of news, entertainment and lifestyle, plus a “Sports Talk” segment hosted by Beretts, which features two sporting guests to give their take on the latest sports news and highlights.

Eddy would also have a segment of her own where she meets community heroes/people doing it tough.

Sam Mac would be used as a roving reporter filing pre-recorded packages for the show where he does stunts/stupid things out in public, and they’d also cross to him out in the streets of Sydney every half an hour. In addition, each week Sam will give away a brand new iPad to a member of the public.

All Sunrise presenters are retained under my plan so no job losses would occur.

If these changes were to occur, The Morning Show would be pushed back to a 10:00am-12:00pm timeslot, and the Morning News (which will have to be renamed) will extend to an hour and run from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

The only issue I have with this is the length of time that passes before WA would see this. A 2 to 3 hour delay can be a long time in the 24 hour news cycle.

I think that one of 2 things could be done with your idea.

  1. film an updated last hour for Perth, OR
  2. Screen it as Sunrise Final Hour and film it at 11am (screening live after Sunrise in Perth and after The Morning Show elsewhere)

I would screen Sunrise from 5am in WA during daylight saving

It will be known as Seven Midday News. What do you think?

Seems the most logical suggestion.

I thought maybe Seven Afternoon News but it’s too similar to the 4pm news which tends to be known as either “Seven News at 4” or “Seven Afternoon News”.

This would be my suggested offering for Nine if Seven adopted your schedule (noting I have started my schedule from 1am)

1am Infomercials
4:00am Hot Seat (encore)
5:00am A Current Affair (encore)
5:30am 5:30 (repeat)
6:00am Today
8:30am Today Extra
10:30am Nine Morning News
11:00am Ellen DeGeneres Show
12:00pm Midday News*
12:30pm Reality encore/Desperate Housewives OR Afternoon Movie
3:00pm Tipping Point
4:00pm Hot Seat
5:00pm Nine Afternoon News
5:30pm 5:30

  • I would trial this as a 30 minute news broadcast and depending on viewer and advertisers interest be open to extending to 1 hour and being similar to the original 11am

Also if the reality show was 1 hour in length, a lifestyle show such as Getaway or Adelaidy would air between the news and reality show between 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 and a half hour news to be extended to eliminate filler content

12 hour old news? This isn’t 10!

I figured it as a filler. This show I proposed is a current affairs show, nationally produced with state specific stories inserted. Much like the SCA attempt at National Nine News with regional inserts
