Nothing that I can see… I’m surprised it doesn’t have standard yellow/black (NSW) ones.
Other window was the same, and as mentioned it’s been removed from the rear window too.
White with black writing is standard in NSW now too (as seen on the 2 cars in front of it).
Totally off topic but yeah, the white on black seems to be. Have wondered why for a while now and it seems more prevalent than the black on yellow even though that still seems to be around and the ‘standard issue’. Bit sad as the black on yellow was uniquely NSW and the black on white is very boring though maybe looks better on most cars.
Meanwhile, the 10 vans seem to be becoming a relic of the past. Sad.
When i got new plates i had a choice skinny white and black or bigger yellow and black. The skinny ones were no extra charge and seem more popular these days.
Was that directly from the RMS? I know some car dealers usually include slimline black and white in the deal. But some new cars still appear with yellow and black ones.
LE-2002 is a custom combination. The Ten vans usually have plates beginning with TEN.
I’ve seen a white one around too, NBN-012 plate i think.
Do the Nine stations in the metropolitan areas have the same vehicles?
I haven’t seen a Brisbane Nine News vehicle in yonks with logos on it. Recently I’ve seen 2 journos doing live crosses and no vehicle near by which distinguishes that it’s even a media vehicle. The old days of microwaves trucks, roof racks for tripods to be mounted and personalised numbers plates in QLD appear to be a thing of the past. They really don’t want you to know who they are anymore!
It’s also a safety precaution.
Yea,I doubt it. I think it’s more they don’t want people to know which station they are from when they are are out filming so they can’t make a complaint.
NBN News still has logos on their cars.
Maybe it’s safer in regional areas, but we have our fair share of loonies too.
It’s not solely about safety, but it’s certainly a decent consideration nowadays with the general perception of media in the public.
There are other considerations, no cost to wrap cars or install vinyls, maintain or update them.
It also gives them a bit of anonymity when out & about so they’re not easily identifiable.
I can’t imagine there are too many people calling to complain if they’re out filming?
I think safety is a big part these days unfortunately with many of the anti-vaxxers, flat earthers and big pharma etc… types who are all very anti-mainstream media and it wouldn’t take much for a situation to escalate easily.
- Not saying all with these beliefs are like this but there are many. I know several anti-vaxxers who actually do have genuine reasons/concerns.
Sorry, as soon as you said that several anti-vaxxers have genuine reasons you lost any credibility. Another Pete Evans by the sounds of it.
No, I’m very pro vax and believe all the benefits but I do know a couple of people who have actual genuine vaccine injuries - but that’s not for this thread.
You brought it up…
