An easy win for Nine last night as Lego Masters continues to deliver – much better than Monday when Seven had a narrow win; even Perth did well for Nine just 0.5% behind Seven. Nine also easily won the key demos. 10’s main channel ranked second in demos as MasterChef picked up for the immunity challenge – usually one of its best nights. House Rules, however, down to a its lowest number so far. Mr Black couldn’t break 500k but seems to have been competitive in its timeslot making the top 5 in 16-39 demo. Interview on Seven was down from the previous two episodes.

Below average debut for Mr Black.
TBBT had a belated audience increase as the final season continues.
Who Do You Think You Are? boosted SBS’s share again.

#4

Neighbours seems to have had a bit of a spike last night and appearing in all 3 demos.

#5

Who Do You Think You Are? just missed the top 20 at 21st place. The Recording Studio that seems to get a lot of social media praise continues to drop to its lowest number so far, ranking 24th. Later, NCIS was 28th, Timeless on Nine 30th and The Resident 40th, NCIS LA 43rd.

#6

This was quite good. Subtle comedy. Very ABC in look, feel and scripting. It’s a shame shows like this are done more by commercial networks but good on 10 for having a go. Was the only 30min of FTA I watched last night aside from 9 news at 6.

What do people make of the debut of Mr Black? Its not great. However, there isn’t a lot of shows that rate well at 8:30 for 10. I actually forgot it was on so I will catch up with it.

House Rules is looking dire.

#8

It’s a shame it didn’t rate well because it was really enjoyable to watch

To be honest i think it’s more a case the rest was down. It’s ratings pretty much matching previous weeks. Its demos were actually down on last week, but multis were higher last week so it didn’t show in top 20 total

#10

In the news battle/s so far, after 2 days this week, Nine News is just 4,000 ahead of Seven in Sydney and 2,000 ahead in Melbourne but in Brisbane its a blowout with Nine surging 30,000 clear of Seven.

#11

By whose standard? Sandwiched at 8.45pm there was no way people would abandon their shows to go to 10. Means it was only ever going to pull Masterchef’s audience.

Plus it’s a 10 show after a reality that pulled 400k+. Seems fine to me.

Lego Masters continuing to perform surprisingly well for Nine, particularly in Sydney & Melbourne. If it can stay above 1 million (or close enough to it) for the remainder of this season, it’ll probably be renewed for 2020.

TBH, I saw you as more of a loyal 10 News First Sydney viewer! Although knowing what the other 6pm news bulletin is like these days, I don’t really blame you for choosing Nine News.

With Hot Seat usually outrating The Chase, Nine more often than not ahead at 6pm in Sydney and A Current Affair comfortably ahead at 7pm, Nine’s 6.30pm ratings remain concerning. Realistically, you’d also have to imagine that Peter Overton & Cameron Williams are a far more popular news/sports presenting duo amongst Sydney viewers than Mark Ferguson & Mel McLaughlin, which surely means the cause of Seven’s rise/Nine’s fall at 6.30pm is most likely to be…

#13

I invariably do not get home in time for 10. I just would like them to produce a good quality and beefed up news service. That is why comments are more directed there. I just watch 9 given the convenience of 6pm. By ABC news time I am tired or eating dinner.

From the promo’s I assumed Mr Black was another 1 hour Aussie drama so I decided to give it a miss. However had it on in the background and was surprised to see it ending after 30 mins. A short 30 min comedy is definitely welcome on FTA. I hope it can grow and do well or at least sustain those numbers.

I think Mr Black did alright. Most of the scripted imports do about the same or a lot worse in that timeslot.

SBS does really well with Who Do You Think You Are? and now beating the ABC.

That debacle. Please tell me they are changing the name of that week. I do not want to have the conversation with my mum again telling her it’s not a pilot appreciation week

If only there was a word for a standalone episode of a television series that is used to sell the show.
