Nine easily won its tenth consecutive overnight ratings. Despite dropping three points from last Tuesday, the network stayed nine points clear of second-place Seven that was steady week-on-week. 10 came in third and along with ABC, both networks recorded their highest Tuesday shares of 2023. Nine easily won the key advertising demos with again second main channel and network.

Married at First Sight continued its reign as the top entertainment show though down 50,000 to its lowest Tuesday for three weeks. Survivor was second with its third consecutive +500,000 result for its best week so far of the season and up 60,000 on last week.

For ABC, Back In Time’s latest season kicked off looking at The Corner Shop with 387,000 tuning in. That compares to the previous season that debuted in 2020 to 582,000.

Meanwhile the second instalment of Seven’s new comedy We Interrupt This Broadcast disappointed after losing 90,000 from the premiere to average just 290,000. The show came in 12th in 25-54.

With a smaller lead-in on Nine, The Hundred with Any Lee later slipped 30k to a season low but still an easy timeslot winner.

Earlier at 6pm Seven News was down as Nine’s bulletin was more competitive. That was despite a +500k lead-in from The Chase, one of its best ratings of the year. Meanwhile The Project was up again to another record audience for the 2023 survey.

Disappointing drop for We Interrupt This Broadcast. It will need a decent boost in Total TV to stay in its current timeslot.

That’s what happens when the ABC scheduled it directly against the juggernaut that is MAFS. It should have been aired late last year or after Easter this year.

I am going to made a bold prediction and suggest that MAFS has already reached its peak this season on Sunday night.

There was a slight drop last night and I expect this fall to continue because I feel viewers are starting to lose interest now

I will be surprised if it gets back anywhere near that high 900’s mark again before the end.

But hey, anything around 700K is still a great number

You can almost see the puns beginning to whirr in Knoxy/McKnight/Perry’s head now ahead of its axing/shifting.

Ten News First still not making any inroads into Nine News at 5 in Adelaide. They’re going to have to pull out all the stops to get closer to Nine News.

Slipping below 300k would be a concern for Interrupt. Could we see new episodes moved to Wednesday night post Front Bar (the slot currently being used for encores of the show) ?

Well its certainly got some demo competition in survivor at this pointy end with survivor matching it or just over taking in some cities

I don’t even think Saturday could be an option either now, as last week’s (although it was an encore) was under 200k and that was at 7pm after news lead-in, plus complicated with AFL about to commence. Burned off on 7flix early Sunday evenings, they’ve done that before, Ultimate Tag with Abbey Gelmi.

I guess that ends the idea of reunions for the reunions while the gravy train keeps rolling.

lol

Still a lot of gravy left on this train, but it has peaked now until we get to the Reunion Shows

Weren’t you calling only a week or so back for Nine to drag this out as long as possible to take advantage of the audience numbers?

Seven’s new show hasn’t interrupted anything. Still the same old with them and their lack of innovation and depth.

Yes. They will still be great figures but not in the high 900Ks like last week because there have been too many leaked spoilers

Isn’t airing a sketch comedy show instead of a reality tentpole an attempt to innovate (even if We Interrupt was always doomed to fail going directly up against MAFS)?

Yes I’ll give them that (even though it’s a flop) but the rest of the schedule is the same old. US Dramas that don’t rate and 3rd rate crap that is an insult to the Australian TV audience.

10, whilst is sort of the same at the moment, at least has a decently competitive show in Survivor. Seven needs to look at what Nine does and have Australian content post-8.30 during the week.

Nine won all markets except Perth that was won by Seven. Nine won 25-54 from 10 by 9 points with Seven another 7 further behind. Nine won 16-39 by 4 points from 10 with Seven 9 further back.

What a far cry from its 1m+ metro days 5 years ago (at a time when FTA was already well and truly on the slide). I don’t think this was the right lead-out from WITB, including the demographics, so no surprises for this very poor ranking, but usually does really strong in catch-up.
