Another dominant result for Nine with the main channel up almost 2 points. Seven and SBS were steady with ABC down 2 as 10 improved to its best Tuesday share in 4 weeks.

Nine won all markets except Perth where Seven was again on top.

The Block posted its highest Tuesday rating of the season after similar records on Sunday on Monday. It was up 90,000 from the previous week.

Budget coverage saw a big drop in viewership for ABC. The 7.30 timeslot lost 100k week-on-week with the 8pm time down 210k.

10’s documentary at 7.30 managed to outrate Seven’s America’s Got Talent.

Hallifax Retribution finished on a season high.

Depending on overseas sales, surely this could see a second season.

Viewers were more interested in watching The Block and the Halifax finale. 10 has its work cut out next Tuesday with Junior MasterChef.
After the disastrous ratings for the latter stages of America’s Got Talent, Seven will be very hesitant in scheduling the remaining episodes of Britain’s Got Talent.

The Treasurer’s speech was higher than last year’s 496,000 but the analysis special had less viewers than last year’s 417,000. Last year’s Budget was delivered on April 2, before the federal election.

Movie: Night At The Museum rated 20k higher on Saturday night against AFL and NRL Finals :joy:

Disappointed not to see a great show like SBS’s Every Family Has A Secret not featuring in the top 20 last night. They keep managing to find these stories that engage the viewer and educate them. The espionage story last night was particularly compelling and a great insight into how ASIO was operating during the 1950s.

The only solution is to air those on Thursdays (or on 7Mate).

Seven needs to create some quality dramas like Halifax if they want to have any long-term success in primetime. Between Two Worlds fell well short of being good quality so they need to up their game. They used to be pros at it.

Interesting to see 10’s budget coverage well ahead of Nine’s 10.30pm news.

Agree. Have really enjoyed this series just as much as Who Do You Think You Are. The mysteries and sometimes twists were well presented. Also get a kick out of seeing one of my old school mates who works in genealogy featuring in a couple of the episodes again.

The schedule change was clearly worth it.

I think 10shake is going to need to borrow a comedy from 10peach to help attract some eyeballs. A lot of the MTV content on the channel are repeats from 2 or 3 years ago.

I reckon all of the MTV content will be relocated to one night and the channel will either become a family channel with movies and old CBS/ Paramount content or a dumping ground for 10 repeats.

Not sure if it’s 100% 10shakes content that’s the issue:

There’s other issues where 10 has clearly dropped the ball:
The ads for retuning tv should have been on before the channel launched not after
The 10play app doesn’t allow live streaming on some devices, it shows the TV guide but not a streaming link - eg iPhone
The broadcast format format can’t be shown on some television sets (from memory 7flix was the same but 7 changed it)
It’s not available on Foxtel cable

Any of these would create awareness problems, all of them combined well that’s cutting off more and more potential audience.

Then you can worry about the content.

It would be also interesting to see how the Nickelodeon content is going throughout the day?

I also agree, that most of the general public are very unaware of this channel. Still need to give it some time.

True.

They royally fucked up by having preschool content air during the day during the school holidays. I cannot get around that decision. I would have aired the older kids programming such as Henry Danger and iCarly from 6am. Save the preschool stuff for when school goes back and air it from 9-3.

The school aged kids are on holidays and their first impression of this new “kids” channel is preschool programming all day. Weird. Who knows how many stuck around til 4pm to see the decent stuff.
